Business Development Representative (BDR) – Inbound & Outbound Teams
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid 3x)

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be a key part of bringing that mission to life—introducing eCommerce brands to the Klaviyo platform, setting the foundation for long-term success.
We have two dedicated BDR teams—Inbound and Outbound—each playing a vital role in our go-to-market strategy. Whether you're responding to high-intent leads or starting conversations from scratch, you'll gain critical experience and make a real impact.

What’s the Difference Between the Two Teams?
Inbound BDRs respond to prospects who have already shown interest in Klaviyo. You’ll focus on quickly qualifying leads, understanding customer needs, and connecting them with the right people on our sales team. You’ll need to be consultative, curious, and fast-moving.
Outbound BDRs take a more proactive approach—researching and reaching out to brands who haven’t yet engaged with us. You’ll build pipeline through cold outreach, strategic prospecting, and compelling messaging. This track requires grit, creativity, and resilience to open doors and create new opportunities.

We have a very thorough approach in our interviewing practice to make sure you are being assessed based on skills, characteristics and sales criteria. Our goal is to ensure you are placed on the correct team to learn, grow and be successful right out of the gate!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Generate qualified opportunities for the sales team(AE’s) through a rigorous qualification approach
- Build prospective relationships with e-commerce brands and help them understand how Klaviyo can drive their growth.
- Learn to effectively identify buyer needs, position Klaviyo’s value, and route leads appropriately to Account Executives.
- Stay organized, focused, and consistent in your outreach across multiple channels—calls, emails, and social.
- Demonstrate grit and resilience by staying positive and motivated, even in the face of rejection.

Share insights, contribute to a supportive team culture, and help improve our processes as we scale.
Who You Are:
- Located in the Boston area and excited to work in a hybrid environment (3x a week).
Hold a BA/BS or equivalent experience. - Driven by a strong desire to launch a career in tech sales, with ambitions to grow into roles like Account Executive.
- Possess grit, resilience, and curiosity—you bounce back quickly and always want to learn more.
Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with high standards and clear goals. - A strong communicator who’s confident over the phone, clear in writing, and thoughtful in your approach.

Our salary range reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all our US locations. The base salary offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location.
In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in the company’s annual cash bonus plan, variable compensation (OTE) for sales and customer success roles, equity, sign-on payments, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility.
