About Onapsis and what they do
Onapsis is in the business of helping our customers secure their most critical application. So historically, we started with helping them secure systems, by SAP, typically ERP and other critical app systems that run the backbone of the business. And now we're branching out and going wherever our customers have critical applications, we want to help them make that secure.
Details on Onapsis' product team
The product team at Onapsis is a diverse, distributed group, we have folks like myself here in the US, we have folks in South America based out of our Buenos Aires office in Argentina, and we have folks in Europe as well. But despite this distribution, what I'm really proud of is we work together well as a team. So we have a great focus on collaboration, on learning from each other are working together, we work around the time zones, and what we really have as a group of people who really strive to make our product successful, and then through that make ourselves successful, and champions within the analysis family.
What a typical work week looks like
That's always a tough one to describe it. I talked about, for example, what myself and the team has been doing over the last week or so. We've just finished around a roadmap refreshes. And we're very into transparency here at an abscess. So we've been making sure the go to market team and the engineering team really understand, what are we planning for the next year, year and a half? And why are we doing it? Why is it valuable to our customers? Why is it valuable to analysis, when we're not doing that we're either outward facing so interfacing with our customers with prospects to understand kind of challenges they're having in general, how we can help solve them, and then taking their voice of the customer back to the product marketing team, to the marketing team in general, and to the engineering team to make sure that when we position our engineering when we build our products, that's what people need. But more importantly, when we explain and position our products to the market, it matches with the challenges people are having.
What to expect during the interview process
When you interview for a product role at Onapsis, what's actually really important to us as a cultural fit. So I strongly feel that there's a lot of people with the right skills out there. And so while we do look and ensure that people have the right skills that most people have them or what they're missing, we can easily teach them, what I'm really more concerned about is there going to be a positive or disruptive force to the product team that joining a group that works together? Well, we want to make sure this is a net positive for the group by adding this new person, they're not just their skills, but their personality, we're going to help make us as a product team, a better product team. So we spend a bit of time making sure they meet a number of members on the team, just to make sure we all feel we can work well together. And that this is going to be a positive journey for both of us.
About Onapsis' culture
Yeah, as you can tell, I mentioned I'm in the US, I don't sound like I'm from the us like we're very much an international and diverse culture. And we really pride ourselves on that. And in fact, it's one of the most important parts of working in absolutes, to me is the fact that that we have this really positive and embracing culture. So what we're about is individuals being successful. And we have a number of people both on my team and other groups within an axis with a role they had when they joined is nothing close to the role, they have now been able to move sideways within the company. Try different things work in different departments, because they want to try things that kind of challenge them and fascinate them. So here at an abscess, our culture is about empowering people to be successful. And we want of course, in their success to help fuel the success of an abscess, they're not pigeon holed to you're hired for this role. Therefore that is your role. If you want to do something else, you're gonna have to go somewhere else to find it. So we really embrace kind of what makes people tick, what will help them be successful than how we can we provide them with the tools and the support to be the best they can be.
Why now is the ideal time to join
I think now's a great time to join Onapsis. So it's a little jealous of anyone who gets to join now because we're really on the cusp of really building out a lot of new technology, and taking on new challenges that companies haven't done before. So history is dealing with SAP systems, which have you know, them their historical kind of on premise, very large systems. And they are now being broken up and bought to the cloud in the forms of SAS. And we're helping our customers with that journey. And we're helping to get ahead of our customers. So as they take that journey, we're ready for them when they're running a disparate set of solutions that run their business critical applications, have their business critical data have their business critical processes, and are talking between different technologies provided by different companies. So we want to make sure we understand that in connected risk, and we provide that value and understanding through our product. So as product managers, we really have to understand what people are trying to achieve, what technologies are they relying on? What are some of the weaknesses or challenges around configuring that technology in a secure way? Then how can we turn that into a product and a set of functions that's easy to understand and easy to use and easy to To communicate the value data, so it's a it's what I described as a wonderful challenge, which sounds like a contradiction. But I think there's nothing better in life than being challenged and feeling yourself becoming better at what you do because you're meeting this challenge and you're achieving this challenge. And that's what the whole team is doing. And we've already been able to look back with pride on a number of major achievements recently, and we've got a whole bunch more challenges we can see on the roadmap that we've deliberately set ourselves, Whoever joins our team is going to help us kind of overcome these challenges and get to that summit with us and it's going to be just a fantastic journey for us.
