About Examity and what they do
We are the leader in online proctoring services. We have hundreds of clients from universities. Obviously, they are the ones that require more support services. But we also have some certification entities, we offer two main products, which is light proctoring, in which we connect a person, a proctor a real proctor with the test taker, the proctor guidance through all the authentication process and then do the proctoring. The whole time that the test taker takes the exam. And then we have the outer proctor in which with the technology that we have, we authenticate the test taker, we, the test taker went to a process where it's going out trying to get it then it launched the exam. And we record the test taker during the time and then we have some AI to analyze all to try to identify some students behaviors while that the security is taking.
Details on Examity's engineering team
Right now we are around like 40 for 11 years. We have a team here in the US, we have a team in India, and we have contractors in Argentina. That is the size of the new platform that we are developing, we work in following agile procedures. We have four Scrum teams that divide the different models and components of your application. And all work together into like a two-week sprints, collaborating with each other in terms to develop our own case or application.
Cool projects engineers get to work on
Lay down the property in the session. Specifically, that is really, really challenging. Because of the test taker they use or solution in a different configuration like the 1000s of different configurations, Windows Mac's, different processors with different size of memory. And then they have different applications installed that can cause troubles with all four or four applications. So that is really interesting how to identify all of those challenges, or all of those potential risks for your application is really, really interesting. And obviously, the technology behind that other, like really interesting is like, you know, like everything right now is hosted on the cloud. And we've recently moved to AWS. So one interesting project is move everything to be native into AWS and to the cloud. And for that, we have some projects into moving into a different technology on how we define our API's. Those are like the interesting things going on right now.
Details on the tech stack
We have on the front end, we use Angular. That's pretty much all of our user interfaces is an Angular. On the back end, we have API's that are done on C sharp, we have some Python, and our database, the Microsoft SQL Server, but as part of as I was mentioning about the project, so now that we move to AWS, we are trying to change specifically like the databases that have been Microsoft SQL Server moved to Postgres. We are also doing some development into the goal line, which is kind of like a native or the preferred language to do AWS development. Because certainly the new technology that we have will also I think I mentioned like AI is part of for our automation solution that is using tensor flow. So that's also part of the tech stack that we manage.
What to expect during the interview process
Yeah, usually, we have, like the screening or really HR does like the first like gathering the applicants and all of that We have like this screening with one of the managers of one of the leads, where like if I speak for myself, I just started to look into whether the experience of this candidate has. I also look like, if I can see like, not only did they steal, but they, they reacted to them, they act like how they disassemble or how they speak and how they interact. So I try to the first kind of like break the ice, with the interview, try to make friends relax, find out about their skills, find out about their experiences, find out about what they want to do next because this data is also important. Then, after the screening, we move to the process, there won't be like three or four other members of the team interview in this, it will be quite developers, product manager, or another manager. Person with different roles in the organization, just to make sure that the person that join us will be able to work together with all the different roles that make the product.
Why now is the ideal time to join
Examity has been doing pretty well I'm just giving you an example. I've been here like for four years, when I joined Examity, I was hired as a QA engineer. And I was the only engineer in the US. The rest of the team for like the new platform. There were like four engineers from India. So the team has grown like exponentially. So up to right now, just on the new platform development, we are up to 40 around 40. So and we continue growing we are trying to get more people like good people to join Examity people that desire to add on to apply their knowledge into like, this business is growing because of like the situation of the world, right like with everything going remote. So Examity kid growing, in terms of headcount, but also we are moving into new technology such as I mentioned recently, this year at the beginning of the year, we migrate to AWS. So all of our solutions are hosted in AWS. We are looking into new technologies that are more alike that are native to us on the cloud. And we keep increasing we keep modern modernizing or solution. So it is a really good time to join us. Discover these new solutions or these new technology together.
