Chief Executive Officer
Josh Brumberger, Chief Executive Officer, has a proven track-record of success spanning the public and private sectors. He has deep experience navigating the accelerating convergence between technology and public policy and delivering results that meet the needs of various stakeholders. Since 2014, Josh has held leadership roles with Utilidata, overseeing the company’s growth and building partnerships with leading utilities and industry partners.
Josh’s background includes strategic roles at Fortress Investment Group, on national political campaigns, and in the Office of the Rhode Island General Treasurer. As former Deputy Treasurer in Rhode Island, Josh worked closely with public and private partners to design and successfully implement economic development and sustainable investment opportunities for the state, and advance new revenue sources for infrastructure improvements.
Josh is a graduate of Northeastern University, and lives with his wife, three kids and dog outside Providence, RI. He also serves on the board of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority.
President and Chief Operating Officer
CJ Meiser, Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and deployment capabilities. With more than 20 years of results-driven experience in global high-tech industries, Meiser has a track record of developing operational excellence and rapidly scaling companies.
Meiser has a diverse background in product management, operations and customer support. As Vice President at Schneider Electric, Meiser launched the company’s industry leading data center monitoring system. He also led product and solution delivery teams, including the $40+ million embedded systems group and Global Design and Configuration teams. Prior to Schneider Electric, Meiser served as Senior Manager at American Power Conversion, responsible for its global portfolio of software and embedded management products.
Meiser holds a B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University.
David Bell, a co-founder of Utilidata and its Chief Scientist, is the principal inventor of Utilidata's Signals Intelligence Engine, the Utilidata AdaptiVolt Volt/VAR Optimization (VVO) System, energy conservation measurement and verification (M&V), and related technologies. Bell is the global leader in the design and analysis of automated conservation voltage reduction systems, setting the industry standard for energy M&V procedures. Bell holds nearly a dozen patents, including three U.S. patents related to signal processing and control in automatic Volt/VAR Optimization systems and two other patents in electrochemistry and fiber optics.
As Utilidata's Chief Scientist, Bell is responsible for the research and development efforts of Utilidata's signal processing and adaptive control technology platforms, and guides M&V analysis efforts. He also serves as a key technical resource for systems engineering, power system modeling, design and analysis of automated conversation voltage reduction systems. As one of the founders of Utilidata, Bell led the technical team responsible for the first industrial application of the company's Volt/VAR Optimization system, and continues to innovate and execute for Utilidata clients' various project needs.
Bell's background is as an electrical engineer with diverse fundamental knowledge and extensive applications experience. Before coming to Utilidata, Bell worked in engineering roles at a number of organizations including GTE Products Corporation, Alcatel Cablle Systems, Kaiser Aluminum, BMC Industries, and Kennedy Van Saun Corporation.
Bell is a senior member of IEEE. He is graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Krista Chappell, Chief Human Resources Officer, serves as a key member of the executive management team. With more than 14 years of experience, Chappell is responsible for recruitment, global travel protocol, benefits management, employee relations, policy development, compensation, and performance management.
Before joining Utilidata in 2014, Chappell spent eight years as the Director of Human Resources at Scallop Shell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center responsible for all human resources functions, including recruitment, policy development, employee relations, payroll, safety, and 401K administration. Prior to that, Chappell served as the HRIS/Benefits Analyst for Akibia, Inc. a Massachusetts-based company providing data center IT management services.
Currently, Chappell serves on the Workforce Development Board for the City of Providence and Cranston, and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Chappell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Sciences and Services from the University of Rhode Island.
Vice President of Product Development
Jeffrey Collemer, Vice President of Product Development, plays a key role in overseeing the development and launch of Utilidata's next generation platform and multiple new applications to drive energy efficiency and renewable integration into the electric power grid. With more than 20 years of experience leading teams delivering world-class software solutions, he manages in-life product performance of Utilidata products, including product requirements, product release, product margin and is an expert in conducting extensive data analysis.
Before coming to Utilidata, Collemer held the position of Vice President of Engineering at The Search Agency where he was responsible for development of the world's first fully automated search engine marketing solution. Prior to that, Collemer served as the Software Architect for APC's software solution which integrated management and monitoring of power, cooling and environmental management devices within datacenters.
Collemer graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and received his MBA from Bryant University.
