Vote Now For the December Winner of the VentureFizz Spark Award!

Last month, we announced (and held) the first installment of our brand new initiative to recognize the most innovative companies in New York tech. We opened it to nominations, held a vote, and one company—Bowery—ended up on top.

Once again, this month we held nominations for companies, and you came up with a great selection for us to ultimately pick five finalists from. Those finalists are: DigitalOcean, Tomorrow Lab, BrandVerge, Crabbr, and Optoon.

You can vote using the form below. Voting ends Friday, 12/14, at 5 p.m. ET.

The winner will be profiled in a video interview which will be featured on VentureFizz at the end of the month and they will also get a free 6-month BIZZpage subscription to help out with their hiring plans!

Additional info about each company is provided below.

*** VOTING IS NOW CLOSED.

DigitalOcean

DigitalOcean provides the easiest cloud platform to deploy, manage, and scale applications of any size, removing infrastructure friction and providing predictability so developers and their teams can spend more time building better software.

Nomination Note: "DigitalOcean has seen consistent momentum and growth from both a hiring and customer acquisition standpoint. In July, we brought on Mark Templeton, former CEO and President of Citrix, as our new CEO. We intend to do big things!!!"

Tomorrow Lab

Tomorrow Lab combines the disciplines of brand strategy, product design, and engineering to create new hardware products. In line with these disciplines, the holistic innovation approach allows for three pillars of design including feature strategy, product architecture, and technology strategy to bring new ideas to life.

Nomination Note: "They create beautiful and innovative hardware products for industry-leading companies. They've been a Fast Company Innovation by Design Product Design Honoree, and featured in Inc. Magazine’s 7 Most Brilliant Product Designs of 2016."

BrandVerge

BrandVerge is the only platform that makes it easy to plan premium media partnerships. Their marketplace and workflow tool takes marketing professionals from discovery to final program in a few easy steps!

Nomination Note: "BrandVerge is setting out to solve for one of the most common, yet antiquated issues facing the media & advertising industry --> the email RFP. Their service is designed to turn the manual, monotonous process into a smooth, marketplace-style interface that allows Custom Content to be transacted upon in a way that helps both the sell & buy side of the house. It's innovative, sleek, smart and already gaining traction. A great option for the SparkAward!"

Crabbr

Crabbr is a travel planning platform designed to create customized itineraries based on user-level and group-level preferences.

Nomination Note: "Crabbr has built an awesome discovery tool for local activities and travel planning. It's like Yelp but organizing the best of the best from professional reviews around the web."

Optoon

Optoon is a team of artists and app creators bringing high-quality mixed-reality experiences to life. ToonPack by Optoon is the premier AR platform for communicating as the 3D cartoon you want to be.

Nomination Note: "Optoon is working on MR/AR projects that test the limits of consumer electronics. Currently, they are starting with the iOS emojis that are controlled by your face and are extremely talented in doing more with less - that is maximizing the experience given operating system and hardware constraints."
