Can you share the details on what Tufin does?
Tufin makes cybersecurity manageable for some of the world’s largest and most complex networks. We enable enterprises to balance business agility with network security. We do this by using an automated, policy-driven approach to managing changes to their networks and cloud environments.
Describe the Tufin Orchestration Suite, and some of the integrations that makes your security software stand out from the others.
Tufin Orchestration Suite (TOS) provides end-to-end visibility and control of an enterprise’s network security, spanning the data center to the hybrid cloud. Tufin Orchestration Suite includes three products – SecureTrack, SecureChange, and SecureApp.
Tufin reduces the enterprise’s attack surface and minimizes disruptions to critical applications. Our solution uses policy to automatically analyze risk, and design, provision, and audit network security changes.
Using network security automation, our customers are able to implement security changes in minutes instead of days with continuous compliance and increased agility.
Tufin Orchestration Suite provides multi-vendor device support for leading enterprise networks, including finance, telecom, energy and utilities, healthcare, retail, education, government, manufacturing, transportation, and auditing.
We partner with leading technology vendors such as Amazon Web Services, Check Point Software, Cisco, Fortinet, Microsoft Azure, Palo Alto Networks, VMware, and more.
Who are some of your customers?
Tufin serves over 2,000 customers spanning all industries and geographies, including more than half of the top 50 companies in the Forbes Global 2000.
Our customers include Audi, Coca-Cola, Boston Scientific, Santander, Twitter, Verizon, AutoNation, RWE Supply & Trading, and Fujitsu .
What are your company’s core values or how would you best describe the culture and working environment at Tufin?
Tufin’s company values include a commitment to excellence, innovation, and creative solutions to problems. Tufin places a high value on open and transparent communication among colleagues, customers, and partners.
Tufin has a very close-knit, collaborative culture – a value that the executive management team has maintained since Day 1. Even today, as Tufin reaches nearly 400 employees, the company preserves a collegial atmosphere that puts respect for others as paramount. That, combined with our flat organizational structure with very little hierarchy, fosters collaboration with an open-door policy.
It’s easy to “say” all of this, but Tufin actually puts these words into action. All of our employees attend new hire orientation in the company’s country of origin, Israel. Taking place each quarter, this week-long trip serves a dual purpose. Employees that have joined the company throughout the quarter become acquainted with company policies and receive an introduction to each department. New hires have time to meet their peers and members of the executive team and experience the company culture and values firsthand.
Is there anything that you’d like to share in terms of promoting diversity across your company and hiring practices?
Tufin is a globally distributed company across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. Our employees represent a diverse set of cultures and backgrounds. This is also true when it comes to high-tech positions, particularly in R&D, where we have a higher than typical percentage of female to male engineers – 35% of our R&D workforce are women. To further highlight our leadership position in the area of gender equality in pay, we have recently signed on to the Boston 100% Talent Compact, a business community-driven effort to close the gender wage gap for working women.
From a big picture point of view, what experience or traits do you typically look for when interviewing and hiring new employees into Tufin?
Passion, respect, and domain expertise. We understand it’s a competitive market, but we look for people who want to contribute at a small company in a big way. We place a great deal of value on employee contribution, focusing on the impact each employee is able to make while upholding company values.

What can someone expect during the interview process?
We see the interview process as a two-way street: we want you to get to know Tufin, just as much as we want to get to know you. You will meet with an array of people at the office including the hiring manager, peers within the team for which you’re interviewing, and the Tufin executive team.
Overall, we want to make sure the candidate is a team player who has a passion to innovate and contribute to the company’s growth by working collaboratively. In order to evaluate that, there are two major aspects to the interview process:
What attracted the candidate to pursue a job at Tufin? Each candidate should be prepared to tell us why they’re interested in working at Tufin and what about the company excites them.
What about your past experience and background creates a strong foundation for future success at Tufin? What is each candidate bringing to the table based on their unique skills?
What can people expect over the course of their career at Tufin?
Tufin is still relatively small, but we are growing rapidly. Current and future employees have the opportunity to put their imprint on the future of the company – a company that we believe is one of the most exciting in the security industry. For example, Tufinathon is our annual internal hackathon open to all employees, not just developers, and each year it contributes valuable features to our product.
Tufin employees have a passion for what they do. Each employee finds that they can make a positive impact on the business regardless of the role they play.
We also love promoting people from within – many of the managers at Tufin were promoted during their time at the company.
What types of activities are employees involved in at or outside the office?
Our employees are very active! We have a great deal of runners, hikers, skiers, swimmers, and even surfers on our team. There are also a lot of musicians – we keep discovering talents in different parts of the company.
Our employee intranet allows us to share our interests to find other employees who have shared hobbies. This can lead to a partner, a club, or some friendly competition between offices during different sporting events.
Share one or more random fun facts - the slate is open here… we’re looking for something interesting or random. It could be a story about the company… or one of your employees.
Prior to founding Tufin, Co-Founders Ruvi Kitov and Reuven Harrison worked at the same security company, but on different teams, and didn’t actually know each other well.
As it turned out, they discovered they both had a desire to start their own company. Not knowing exactly what they wanted to do, they decided to work together, but they left the option open to go their separate ways. As they tell it, “At the start, we used our own personal PCs so it would be easier to divide up the office assets if things didn’t work out.”
Not only did they stay together, they boot-strapped the first four years of Tufin and got to $3m in sales by 2007 before taking the first round of funding. The rest is history.

View from your office:
"The security space is booming and to be a part of that, in any way, has been amazing. I love collaboration and constant learning which is what you can expect when working with or in any department here at Tufin. I truly enjoy the supportive culture and all-around atmosphere, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Tufin!"
- Patricia Donahue, Marketing Operations Manager
"The CEO and CTO are the original founders and are actively engaged. They interact with employees on a regular basis, and I have only been impressed by them. Their demonstrated emphasis on people, continued investment in growth, and transparency has made for a very healthy and collaborative workplace.
I work with a diversity of people that are willing -- if not outright eager -- to work with me and help complete projects. This is a huge difference-maker -- while Tufin is a growing company, it has retained the agility and collaboration often promoted as employment differentiators at smaller companies.
I had been with my prior employer for a long period of time, and was skeptical to make a change, but I couldn’t be happier with the decision to join Tufin. I would highly recommend it to those in my professional network."
- Dan Rheault, Senior Manager, Product Marketing
