Can you share the details on what 3Play Media does?
The goal at 3Play Media is to make accessible video easy. What that actually means is that we provide captioning, transcription, subtitling, and audio description services. We pride ourselves on having an easy-to-use system and providing high-quality cost-effective solutions so that we can create a more accessible web for all viewers.
Who are some of your customers?
Our customers range from Colleges and Universities to Sports Networks, and everything in between. We have customers in Media and Entertainment, Government, Faith organizations, Enterprise, Fitness, and eCommerce. A few specific customers include Gaia, ESPN, The New York Times, and Perkins School for the Blind.
What are your company’s core values or how would you best describe the culture and working environment at 3Play Media?
Our core values include creating a more inclusive and accessible web. We also really value having a fun, transparent, and honest company culture. In addition to our services reflecting our values, so does the culture at 3Play. We have an open and collaborative office environment with a stocked kitchen, a friendly office dog, Bo, and monthly social outings.
Is there anything that you’d like to share in terms of promoting diversity across your company and hiring practices?
Our team is growing rapidly, and with that comes an opportunity to create a more diverse team. We are always looking for people to bring their unique background and experiences to our smart and hard-working team.

What can someone expect during the interview process?
Interviewing at 3Play starts with a phone screen by our HR Director, Amy. If you are a good candidate for the position, you’ll come in and meet with a variety of different team members across departments. We’re not only looking for someone who has the right skills and experience, but also someone who shares the same values as 3Play and will be an asset to our company culture.

3Play is a rapidly growing company, which means there are a lot of opportunities for personal growth as well as company growth. Everyone at 3Play works with their manager to create a roadmap. Our office is full of talent – and not just when it comes to accessible video. People in our office are involved in many different things outside of the office from working out, to circus, to playing different instruments. We have crafters and dog lovers, and readers galore! We also have people who sang acapella, diving to name a few...

Our very first headquarters was located in Somerville, MA, and according to co-founder CJ Johnson, was a “small apartment where the floors seemed as flammable as they were slanting.”
