Chief Executive Officer
Kris Hagerman joined Sophos in 2012 as CEO. He is responsible for all aspects of Sophos’ strategic direction and business operations.
Prior to Sophos, Kris was CEO of Corel Corporation. Previously, Kris served as group president, data center management at Symantec, where he led a business of more than $1.5 billion that represented nearly 30 percent of Symantec’s global revenue. Prior to Symantec, Kris was executive vice president and GM, storage and server management at Veritas Software where during his tenure, the company grew from $1.0 billion in revenue to more than $2.0 billion, prior to its acquisition by Symantec. Earlier in his career, Kris was founder and CEO of BigBook, an online yellow pages service and founder and CEO of Affinia, an online contextual advertising network. Kris also held positions at Silicon Graphics and McKinsey & Company.
Kris has a bachelor’s degree in Russian and economics from Dartmouth College, an M.Phil. in international relations from Cambridge University, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Chief Customer Support Officer
Michael Anderson joined Sophos as Senior Vice President, Global Technical Services in March 2015. In this role he leads the company’s customer and partner support strategy worldwide, driving a passion for customer delight, service innovation and efficiency to the global organization.
Michael brings more than 30 years of leadership and global organization development expertise from within the security software industry. Prior to joining Sophos, Michael was vice president for Fortinet Inc., where he was instrumental in improving customer satisfaction worldwide. Following the acquisition of Nokia’s Network Security Division, Michael was director, global services at Check Point Software Technologies, managing a team of professionals across 81 countries.
Prior to Nokia, Michael implemented a carrier-class support process at Mobius Interactive, and eventually integrated the company with Glenayre Technologies. During five years as vice president of services for SonicWALL Inc., Michael developed and launched a portfolio of services, including subscription-based offerings.
His earlier career also included service and support roles at SGI (Silicon Graphics) Global Services, Electro-Scientific Industries and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC).
Chief Marketing Officer
Matt Fairbanks joined Sophos in 2012 as CMO. He is responsible for the company’s global marketing strategy, market development and go-to-market activities. Prior to Sophos, he served as senior vice president of product and solution marketing at McAfee, leading go-to-market activities for the company’s entire range of business security solutions. Previously, he served as vice president of product marketing at Citrix, with responsibility for their Xen virtualization and application delivery product lines. He also held senior marketing and product management roles at Symantec, Veritas and Seagate. At Symantec, he defined go-to-market strategies for a $2.0 billion software product family and led product marketing and campaign marketing for the entire “Veritas” software portfolio. At Veritas, he served as senior director of product marketing, where he defined and executed product marketing initiatives for a $1.0 billion software product family.
Matt has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.
Chief Technology Officer
Joe Levy joined Sophos as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in February 2015. In this role he leads the company’s technology strategy worldwide, driving product vision and innovation to both enhance and simplify IT security.
Joe brings more than 20 years of leadership and development expertise, focusing on information security. Prior to Sophos, Joe was CTO for Blue Coat Systems following the company’s May 2013 acquisition of security analytics pioneer Solera Networks, where he had served as CTO since 2008. Prior to Solera, Joe was CTO of SonicWALL (acquired by Dell), where he led research and development teams with concentrations in the areas of next-generation firewalls, deep packet inspection, cryptography and secure remote access.
Earlier in his career, Joe spent six years with the security-focused, value-added reseller OneNet, where he led product and service design and development, including managed services. Joe has participated in various industry certification and design consortiums, and he holds several security, networking database and virtualization patents. He has co-authored a book on the topic of wireless network security, covering many of the secure wireless innovations he and his architectural teams have designed. Joe holds a BA from Queens College, NY.
Chief Product Officer
Dan Schiappa is chief product officer with Sophos. In this role, Dan is responsible for the overall strategy, product management, architecture, research and development, and product quality for the network security, enduser security, and Sophos Central groups, and drives next-gen innovation into the entire portfolio.
Dan joined Sophos as general manager of the Sophos Enduser Security Group in 2013 with responsibility for the company’s portfolio of enduser security offerings, including endpoint, mobile, server protection, and encryption and data protection products. In November 2016, Dan also took responsibility for the Network Security Group, which includes the Sophos portfolio of next-gen firewall, UTM, and Wi-Fi protection.
Prior to joining Sophos, Dan served as senior vice president and general manager of the Identity and Data Protection Group at RSA, the Security Division of EMC. At RSA, Dan managed a business unit with responsibility for authentication, identity management, anti-fraud, encryption and data center operations. Previously, he held several GM positions at Microsoft Corporation, including Windows security, Microsoft Passport/Live ID, and Mobile Services. Dan was the key business leader for Microsoft’s BitLocker and Rights Management services.
Prior to Microsoft, Dan was the CEO of Vingage Corporation, a video server provider acquired by L3 Mobilevision, and was an executive at PictureVision, an online digital imaging company acquired by Kodak. Dan also held senior technical roles at Informix Software and Oracle Corporation.
Chief Revenue Officer
Michael Valentine joined Sophos in 2013 as senior vice president, worldwide sales and is responsible for the company’s global sales and channel organization. Michael has more than twenty years of senior sales and channel experience at global IT security companies and is consistently named as a “Channel Chief” by CRN magazine.
Prior to joining Sophos Michael served as vice president, Americas sales and support at Fortinet. In this role, he oversaw all facets of the company’s network security offerings—VPN, UTM, web filter, security software—and business development across North America, Latin America and Australia/New Zealand, helping to increase corporate revenues by nearly 40 percent.
Before joining Fortinet, Michael held vice president of Americas sales positions at both SonicWALL and WatchGuard Technologies, as well as senior sales positions at Panasonic.
Michael has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Texas - Arlington.
Chief Information Officer
Tony joined Sophos as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in 2016. In this role he is responsible for the strategy, security and management of the global IT organization, and the security of data for Sophos’ 20,000 partners and 220,000 customers worldwide.
Prior to joining Sophos, Tony was chief information officer at GoPro, the camera maker and content enabler. Prior to GoPro, Tony served as senior vice president for Informatica Cloud and Subscription Sales where he was responsible for growing Informatica’s global Cloud business. During his career at Informatica Tony also served as chief information officer, and as executive director of North Asia based in China.
Prior to joining Informatica in 2002, Tony worked at Converge as the Director of Exchange Applications and Mindcrossing as vice president product development. Tony began his career at Hewlett Packard (HP) as a software developer and served for 11 years in a number of information technology and marketing roles. Tony holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and a master's degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University, CA.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Amanda Mallow joined Sophos in November 2018 as Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role she is responsible for our global HR strategy for our 3,500 employees worldwide.
Amanda is an exceptional global HR leader, with over 20 years’ experience in human resources functions at technology organizations. She has a proven track record of leading teams that deliver record numbers in attracting, hiring and maintaining top talent in high growth businesses and transformational settings. Amanda was previously Chief Human Resources Officer for endpoint security firm, Absolute Software. Prior to Absolute, Amanda was the Global VP, Human Resources of network security company, Fortinet.
Chief Legal Officer
