Jobs at Cogo Labs
President & CEO
Robert Fisher is President & CEO at Cogo Labs. His work has pioneered Cogo’s efforts in implementing analytics against very large data sets, including strategies in user acquisition, discovery of consumer interest, market research, and the detection of viral growth.
Prior to Cogo, Robert has also worked in journalism and as a photographer and musician. He holds a BS in Applied Mathematics and a BS in Economics from North Carolina State University and a MA in Economics from Northeastern University.
Mira holds patents both granted and pending in the fields of cyber security and sensor data fusion. She has an S.B. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, as well as an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Chairman & Co-Founder
David Blundin is Chairman, co-founder, and former CEO of Cogo Labs. In addition to his role at Cogo Labs, David is currently chairman of the board at Vestmark, where he served as CEO from 2001 to 2008. Previously, he was Chief Technologist at Vignette Corporation.
Prior to Vignette, David was the founder, CEO and Chairman of DataSage, Inc. DataSage was acquired by Vignette in a half-billion dollar transaction in January of 2000. DataSage’s software enabled businesses to centrally capture and analyze all of their electronic interactions and use that information to personalize interactions with customers.
Prior to 1997, David was President and CEO of Cirrus Recognition Systems, a data mining software company. Previously, he was among the first ten employees at MicroStrategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) and served on MicroStrategy’s board of directors in 2003 and 2004.
David received a B.S. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he researched neural network technology at MIT’s renowned Artificial Intelligence laboratory. Currently, he is a limited partner in three Boston area venture funds, a co-founding board member of a hedge fund that employs data mining techniques, and a board member at several technology start-up companies.
Dr. Jeffrey Considine
Prior to Cogo Labs, he was a software architect and researcher at New Frontier Advisors, where he optimized financial portfolios for investability. Jeffrey has published academic papers in many areas including security, networking, and databases. He received his B.A. and Ph.D. from Boston University.
Chief Technology Officer
With over 20 years of experience, Joe's expertise in distributed systems, high availability, multicore, security, databases, networking, and web drive his role as Chief Technology Officer.
Prior to Cogo Labs, Joe sold several startups in search, marketing, fraud detection, and a social network. He also received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering from MIT under Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web.
Before MIT, Joe started a privately-held computer consulting business that spread by word of mouth to more than 200 clients including regional healthcare providers, law firms, grocery stores, and a police department.
Chief Financial Officer
Matt Plasker is Chief Financial Officer of Cogo Labs. Matt has spent his career working with entrepreneurial technology companies providing the financial disciplines and infrastructure to support the evolution of the businesses.
Prior to joining Cogo, Matt was the CFO of Vericept Corporation and V.P. of Finance at WebCT, Inc. Matt is a CPA in Massachusetts and holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from Northeastern University and a M.S. in Taxation from Bentley University.
Chief Network Officer, SVP Corporate Development
John Werner has created a career out of bringing ideas, networks and people together to generate powerful results. Currently, John serves as the Chief Network Officer, SVP Corporate Development of Cogo Labs and as Managing Director and Partner at Link Ventures. Before joining Link Ventures and Cogo Labs, John’s deep curiosity and penchant for problem-solving led him to a diverse set of roles spanning many fields and interests. Previously, John was a VP at Meta, a Y-Combinator augmented reality startup based in Silicon Valley. John’s also served as the Head of Innovation and New Ventures at the MIT Media Lab's Camera Culture Group, and the Managing Director of Emerging Worlds SIG, where he led the launch of collaborative innovation centers in Mumbai, Nashik, and Hyderabad.
John also channels his passion and curiosity into cultivating platforms for thought and exchange. John is the Founder & CEO of ARIA, a community focused on the potential of augmented reality and the Blockchain+AI+Human, which takes place at MIT and the World Economic Forum in Davos with MIT Professor Sandy Pentland. John also founded Ideas in Action Inc., a non-profit that creates and produces TEDxBeaconStreet, whose talks have accumulated 250+ million YouTube views.
John was also a co-Founder of Citizen Schools, an advisor for PhotoButler, Vestigo Ventures and Founders Forum (Boston), an MIT Connection Science Fellow, a Loeb Fellow at the Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a graduate of Hamilton College. John was recognized by Harvard Business Review for his leadership; by BostonInno in 2014 as a top 50 on Fire in Boston; Boston Chamber with a TOYL (Ten Outstanding Young Leaders) Award in 2006. In his free time, John is a passionate photographer and an accomplished triathlete (qualified for the worlds and 4x nationals). John and his family live in Brookline, MA.
Vice President, Engineering
John McGeachie is Vice President, Engineering. Prior to Cogo, John held VP Engineering, VP Support, VP Sales, CTO, and CPO roles at technology product companies on both the east and west coasts.
John began his career in the consulting world, leveraging a technology background to design and build large scale systems in the financial services, publishing, and insurance industries. After building and successfully exiting two technology startups, John moved over to the business side at Evernote, the popular consumer productivity app. At Evernote John built the Evernote Business team and overhauled Support operations, a worldwide team of over 60 people.
John holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Dartmouth College.
Vice President, Strategy
Brad is Vice President, Strategy at Cogo Labs. Brad works with Cogo and portfolio company leaders to plan out high growth business opportunities and investments. Prior to his current role, Brad has built a traffic quality management system for Everquote, lead the SEM team at Cogo, directed the summer intern program at Cogo, expanded Cogo’s consumer profile data network, and turned that data into marketing recommendations for Cogo and portfolio company marketing teams.
Brad holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Dartmouth College.
Vice President, Venture Development
John Roland is Vice President of Venture Development at Cogo Labs and serves as an advisor to the incubator's portfolio companies. Prior to his current role, John has held many positions around the incubator and its affiliates including: VP of Analytics at Cogo, SVP of Corporate Development & Strategy at EverQuote (Cogo's largest portfolio company), and Partner at Link Ventures (Cogo's parent company).
In his time at Cogo, John has managed multiple business units, grown the company's analytics department and expanded the incubator's data and traffic driving capabilities. At EverQuote and Link, he supported fundraising efforts for the company and fund, respectively.
John holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from Dartmouth College and graduated summa cum laude.
Vice President, Operations
Blair Merlino is VP of Operations at Cogo Labs. He focuses on strategic operations, planning, and process execution for Cogo and Cogo's overall ecosystem.
Prior to Cogo, Blair worked as a business management consultant and served in the military. He holds a BA in Psychology from Messiah College, and an MBA and MS in Information Systems from Boston University.

I have never experienced such a fast-paced, challenging work environment. Right from the start, I was learning the intricacies of the business and getting familiar with the tools that would allow me to efficiently face any—and every—problem. Most importantly, within a month I felt like the projects I was working on were having an immediate and tangible effect on the business.
