I never thought I'd have a desk at home, but WFH has become the norm in the past year. I'm grateful that my company let us take work equipment home from the office and also reimbursed any purchases. I've had to make some adjustments like getting rid of some furniture to make this large desk work in my limited space, moving the desk from one corner to another nook, and rearranging the living room multiple times, but I'm just thankful to have a dedicated work space, a comfortable ergonomic chair (unpictured), and to be working surrounded by green friends.

My home office revamp has been one of my greatest pleasures during this pandemic. As you'll see in the photos, the core of my WFH is my standing desk and I made the space feel like an office by incorporating a custom decal of my company's logo. I love "going to work" everyday because I'm surrounded by photos of friends & family and have my candles and knickknacks to keep me calm. It also doesn't hurt that I love what I do!

Work from home is all about flexibility and comfort. Being at home gives you liberty to work from your favorite spots in the home. For me it’s my mini garden., the gazebo in warm morning sunshine and after all nothing like bedroom flooring warm and comforting. My Favorite spaces: Mini Garden (close to nature); Gazebo on the roof (warm sun and chirping birds); Bedroom Floor (WFH is comfort of being out of bed and making it to the laptop).

This space was set up with the goal of creating a calming environment where I can get work done and take advantage of some of the upsides of working from home. I filled my space with sentimental items from my life to help me feel connected while staying safe. There is a turntable on my bookshelf so I can throw on a record while diving into some deep work, and when I need some inspiration some of my favorite books are within arms reach. When I need a break, I pull over my DIY ballet barre and my office becomes the perfect home ballet studio where I can stream classes. This space in tandem with the opportunity to work for such a wonderful company have played a major role in helping me embrace each day with excitement and optimism.

So this space was originally just meant to be a design piece off the side of the Home Theatre. We had had a leak in the corder of the room, which meant opening up the wall, so rather than just re-drywalling it all I turned the one wall into an accent wall by doing it in metal, with some polished, some rusted plates. And I made all the furniture in a retro/industrial style. The space was completed a month before lockdown and became a real workspace when my wife took over the actual home office :slightly_smiling_face:

Being in week 8 of our third total lockdown, having an at home workspace is very important to keeping up good energy, a positive mindset, and creative ideas. To do this I tried to incorporate all the things I love in my living room workspace. I have photos of family and friends close by, tokens from my home, many reminders of traveling/my travels to fuel my passion and stay hopeful of all that's to come, positive quotes to pick me up when needed, art to inspire me, my cameras for creative breaks, records for music to match my mood, and new books to challenge my thinking! I moved here right before lockdown with just a few suitcases in tow so I've spent the year not only working to make this work from home space a positive one but my whole new environment as well!
