: Solution Engineer

NWN is looking for a Solution Engineer to join our East Coast team (Waltham, MA, Farmington, CT, Raleigh, NC or Greensboro, NC).  This is a remote position with occasional onsite visits. This position is full time with full benefits.

The scope of essential job responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting and maintaining our client's enterprise networks. The Engineer will act as the technical lead for assigned clients. In addition, the Engineer will work with the client to ensure managed devices conform to NWN's Best Practices Framework for managing and supporting enterprise networks.
  • Work with and master many enterprise networking products from the following vendors: Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, and third party Cisco voice partners.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise for their managed customers.
  • Candidates must be able to effectively work in a team environment and manage their time independently.
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal as well as analytical troubleshooting skills. Strong communications skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
  • Availability for after-hours support as needed is a requirement.
  • Schedule on-site visits when necessary in accordance with the customer contract.

The successful candidate for this position will meet these minimum requirements:

  • 3-5 Years of experience managing/supporting and or deploying Unified Communications infrastructures.
  • At least one major vendor certification (CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable, poised, and affable with senior level executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and advise clients on proper solution best practices for implementation and maintenance of networking technologies.
  • Interact with clients to resolve any issues before, during, or after service engagements.
  • Schedule on-site visits when necessary in accordance with the customer contract.
  • Provide continued input to management regarding new ideas and concepts to improve overall quality of service to our clients and partners.
  • Documentation
  • Experience with Zenoss is a plus.
  • Cisco CUCM, CUC, UCCX and accompanying application experience required.
  • Cisco C Series UCS server experience required.
  • Cisco IOS Voice Gateway experience required.
  • Basic Cisco routing and switching experience required.
  • Experience with Cisco Hosted Collaboration (HCS) is a plus
  • Experience with CUCDM (VOSS) is a plus
  • Experience with Cisco UCCE (Contact Center Enterprise) is highly desirable

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Local driving distance on a daily basis.
