The New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) seeks an extremely organized, detail-oriented, and reliable contributor to join the team as Senior Manager, Administrative Operations. Candidates must be self-motivated, trustworthy, and excited by the prospect of managing and improving internal processes for an organization doing meaningful work.

Start Date: September 15th, 2019

This role ensures smooth operation of the organization in a variety of ways, including but not limited to: people operations, office operations, and administrative functions in support of NEVCA management across all programs. The person in this role works with, and reports directly to the NEVCA President.

 Key Responsibilities Include

  • Management of NEVCA Board governance, ensuring Board Member terms are being managed/followed appropriately, that we’re compliant with By-Laws, etc. (ad-hoc management as well as annual review of terms, documents, etc.) 
  • Management of NEVCA Board Committees, including agenda creation, strategy, setting and managing KPIs, etc.
  • Management of Quarterly NEVCA Board Meetings, including agenda creation, recording for meetings, reporting and scheduling
  • Creation of monthly updates to NEVCA Board
  • Calendar management, scheduling, and travel coordination for NEVCA President
  • General accounting and bookkeeping, including deposits, managing expense reports, invoice management, and reporting to controller
  • Oversight of all people resources including HR management system, employee onboarding processes, review processes and payroll reporting
  • People Operations – supporting and driving team culture through planning monthly team outings, periodic check ins with team members
  • Creation and maintenance of Knowledge Management Systems (e.g. event documentation, project management trackers, contracts, and other personnel and client databases)
  • Implementation and improvement of office systems and workflow to increase efficiency
  • Support of event day logistics, including setup and registration
  • Act as first point of contact – and filter – for external inquiries to NEVCA
  • Upkeep of office supplies (monitor, order, and re-stock as needed)
  • Ensure office is kept clean and organized at all times
  • Project management for the creation of annual Impact Report

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in an HR, People Ops or Operations function
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal abilities, and professional demeanor
  • Exceptional integrity and professional judgement
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
  • Ability to build positive and professional staff, member firm, and sponsor relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Dropbox
  • Ability to prioritize given tasks and work efficiently towards completing them
  • Comfort following instruction, accepting feedback, keeping commitments, and meeting deadlines

Compensation

  • $55k-$65k base plus annual performance bonus plan
  • 15 vacation days, 17 paid holidays
