The Role
As our Senior Director / VP of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for the planning, execution and operational excellence globally for all Lakeside product marketing objectives, initiatives and results. Regions include US and EMEA. This role requires a combination of strategy, market research, growth marketing, business analysis, and creative skills to create technology-oriented disruptive marketing programs that drive dynamic growth for Lakeside. You'll tasked with driving growth through experimentation and unique ideas based on a deep understanding of product marketing, data and all aspects of our business. Your role will be cross-functional in nature, working in tandem with Product Management, Sales, Channel team, Customer Success and the entire Marketing team to create and execute successful go-to-market (GTM) and go-to-customer (GTC) strategies. What You'll Do
The core functions of this role include:
- Driving product marketing direction for Lakeside, collaborating with other marketing functions such as digital marketing, field/channel marketing, partner marketing and strategic communications, brand & PR
- Understanding market trends, customer requirements, usage and buying behavior, and the partner ecosystem to better identify market opportunities and customer demand for Lakesides product offerings
- Leading Lakesides analyst relations strategy and interactions with key industry analyst firms
- Educating the market about Lakesides core value offerings through multiple collateral such as demos, white-papers, workshops, presentations and technical blogs, driving views of that content
- Educating sales, product management, marketing teams and the partner channel about competitive landscape and competitor offerings
- Partnering with Product Management to develop and activate Lakesides core use case messaging and positioning
- Providing input and strategy into product roadmap, strategy, and pricing based on market and customer research finding, industry analyst interactions and competitive findings
- Nurturing and leverage relationships with key DEX thought leaders, influencers and key strategic customers and partners to help increase market awareness about Lakeside
- Providing input about product priorities and goals to Product Management
- Using customer, partner and competitive research to influence product strategy and drive effective messaging
- Partnering with Product Management to develop product positioning, messaging and value propositions that differentiate Lakeside solutions in the marketplace
- Partnering with CS and Sales to grow a customer reference program to engage our customers and to showcase customer success and value realization achieved using Lakeside
- Crafting engaging audience-specific content, including case studies, solution briefs, web content, presentations, data sheets, whitepapers and sales playbooks that can be utilized globally
- Partnering with Product Management to conduct ROI/TCO analysis and develop content to help customers make the business case for Lakeside
- Gathering competitive intelligence on our key competitors and develop differentiation materials for the field and for external consumption
- Supporting the team in setting clear goals and key results. Ensure that those are communicated and visible across the company and progress is shared regularly
What You'll Bring to Lakeside
The key requirements for this include:
- 10-15 years of experience in product marketing and related marketing functions in the software industry, preferably within enterprise Software-as-a-Service offerings
- 8+ years of progressive management experience, with an emphasis on leadership, and engaging global and local stakeholders
- Technical background and/or clear understanding of the digital employee experience/digital employee monitoring software category
- Experience building trusted relationships with Product Management, Sales, CS and Key Executives
- Experience supporting an Integrated GTM motion that includes sales, channel and services partners, strategic alliances and technology eco-systems
- Bachelors degree in computer science, marketing, business, or related area; MBA is a plus
- Proven track record in building, getting buy-in and executing upstream marketing plans, and staying focused on getting it done in a fast-moving, technical environment
- Ability to coordinate across teams and perform in fast-moving startup environment
- Proven experience being self-directed and working with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated experience building credibility with and delivering results for product teams, sales teams and customers
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills to explain and translate complex technology concepts into simple and intuitive communications
- Uses data to measure results and inform decision making and strategy development
