Position Summary:

The Territory Sales Executive will sell athenahealths cloud-based solutions to single physician practices who specialize in Internal Medicine. They will conduct needs analysis and address critical business issues that the solo Internal Medicine practice experiences. This individual will not only build strong relationships with each potential client, but will create and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects. He or she will have an assigned quota and will be responsible for a comprehensive, full-cycle sales process including: creative lead generation, discovery, driving solution demonstrations, negotiations, and closings.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
80% [Primary Function]

  • Manage a full-cycle sale process, including prospecting, selling, and closing
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline using Salesforce
  • Conduct product demonstrations via WebEx to prospects
  • Quickly but thoroughly learn athenas product lines, the industry, and the industry challenges

20%

  • Produce accurate forecasts to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual quota
  • Leverage internal resources to generate new leads: channel partners, marketing, inside sales
  • Efficiently leverage the online contracting process to close deals
  • Attend industry events and dinner seminars

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 1-3 years of corporate, client-facing work experience
  • 1-3 years of sales experience (may include inside sales, telesales, or quota)
  • Working knowledge of CRM, preferably salesforce
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (both in person and on the phone)
