The Role
Aspen Technology, industry leader in Process Simulation, Engineering and Asset Optimization software is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual as Senior Product Manager focusing on the development and application of AspenTech Performance Engineering solution to address environmental sustainability challenge, reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management. The Senior Product Manager will lead the overall technical and commercial strategy to address customer needs for reducing process energy requirements, emissions, energy transition to renewable resources, and the shift to a circular economy.
The AspenTech Performance Engineering Solution provides market leading capabilities to optimize the performance of process industry assets across the CAPEX and OPEX cycles and is integrated with AspenTech Production Optimization and Asset Performance Management Solutions. AspenTech is the industry leader in Asset Optimization solutions.
Your Impact
- Lead product and solution strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation
- Perform market and competitive analysis, including evaluation of relevant M&A opportunities
- Accelerate product adoption, revenue growth, and customer value
- Develop business plans and forecast growth
- Partner with Marketing to enable global sales staff, and support sales opportunities worldwide
- Coordinate with Customer Support and Quality Engineering to ensure high customer satisfaction and a firm strategy for customer education
- Translate market needs and customer feedback into software requirements and product strategies to achieve rapid adoption of the products
- Partner with R&D teams to define product requirements and end user scenarios
- Lead early adopter program and customer strategic advisory groups through innovation programs
- Evangelize solutions within and outside the company
What You'll Need
- Strong background in the use of process modeling and optimization in process industries. At least five years of experience using AspenTech simulation tools (Aspen Plus or Aspen HYSYS) is strongly recommended
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential; candidate should be a strong influencer
- Background in sustainability initiatives including green/blue hydrogen production, electrochemical operations, carbon capture and sequestration processes, biofuels, or advanced recycling technologies is recommended
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence is desirable
- Good understanding of the end user needs in plant operations, operator training and or plant operations technical services in the process industries
- Proven track record of driving new technology adoption
- Strong leadership and people management skills with proven track record in leading successful project, product or business initiatives leading to business growth
Skills and experience:
- 5-10+ years of experience developing or deploying model-based solutions
- 5+ years of process modeling experience, ideally with Aspen Plus or Aspen HYSYS
- 5+ years of process industry experience in plant engineering or operations functions
- Experience in leading corporate initiatives that have introduced new technology solutions
- Prior experience in Product Management is preferred
Education: Minimum B.S. degree in engineering
