About the Role
The Sr. Manager, Data Science will be a great fit for someone excited about the opportunity to lead a team of Data Scientists to build and manage data science products that enable business functions to learn, verify, and make decisions based on meaningful insights that those products provide. In order to be successful, the person in this role will need to be highly collaborative with various customers across the business. They will work with others to explore and identify the epics and use cases that are aligned with the company strategy and OKRs, learn from and educate the business on which business problems can benefit from data science, and build and uphold delivery centered, trust based working relationships. They should be able to maintain laser focus for themselves and their team on delivering business outcomes with sustainable technical designs and models that can evolve with market conditions and user expectations.

Responsibilities
Technical & Data Science
Develop and constantly refine a data science strategy for enhancing long-term value for the business with right-sized resource demands
Scope, design, and implement models to support prioritized organizational initiatives to achieve business objectives and timelines
Test / Validate / Measure Performance of various data science models and experiments to ensure their viability to provide relevant insights on an ongoing basis
Identify the optimal path using internal or external resources to bring high-quality, value creating products to the business efficiently
Work with large volumes data to map and improve member and prospect journeys based on personas and activity
Embed Data Security into data science products design and, provide clarity and framework for Business Continuity
Establish a sound governance strategy including requirements for ethical and unbiased decision-making, and a Responsible AI framework
Business focus & collaboration
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, able to translate business needs into technical solutions, and to communicate technical solutions to non-technical senior leaders
Build a deep understanding of the businesss marketplace and its dynamics to help understand ways data can be used to deliver superior outcomes aligned with business strategy/OKRs
Help the business understand trends and behavior within its marketplace by conducting exploratory analysis and designing and implementing experiments
Engage with both technical and non-technical audiences to evangelize capabilities, identify, and understand problems faced by the business, and collaborate on the development of data-driven solutions
Data Team cross-functional work
Work closely with the Analytics Enablement Team to build and refine models, using new and existing data-sources (structured and unstructured data), and identifying and implementing techniques including machine learning (where it is optimal and impactful)
Collaborate with data engineers to understand underlying data architecture, and to build data domains, pipelines, extraction processes, and tracking and transformation mechanisms
Partner with the Business Analytics Team and Data Center of Excellence to drive insight into the business and meet the needs of customers in an optimal manner
Leadership & management
Recruit, manage, train, teach, mentor and motivate a team of diverse, dedicated, hard-working data scientists
Balance short-term and long-term priorities to deliver value for immediate needs while building towards scalable long-term results
Collaborate with Program Management to help define processes that improve the teams efficiency
Requirements
7+ years of working experience in a data science position, highly proficient and experienced in scripting languages and rapid prototyping skills
Proficient in Data Science technical skills (such as Data Wrangling, Model Building and Deployment, Querying, Visualization, Machine Learning, Deep Learning etc.)
Experience in building and leading a team of data scientists and analysts
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Demonstrated success in defining goals, formulating approach, building data science models and continuous optimization
Experience managing a multi-quarter roadmap
Problem solving, curiosity, orchestration of data science process, strong communication and interpersonal skills
