As the Payer Relations Senior Director you will lead a team of Regional Directors who each manage a portfolio of payers responsible for over $56B in sales. You will report to the VP of Managed Care. The Senior Director will develop our payer specific strategy and value proposition, aligning targets. You will have direct interaction with Executive Leadership. As a healthcare leader, you will oversee 3-5 direct reports to oversee the management and growth of our payer partners. Your primary focus is to lead and develop your team to promote and align organizational focus and strategy with their assigned payers. Also you will work across the organization to coordinate activity, drive innovation and achieve results.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Lead the direct activities of the payer relations team by providing strategy and support
Account for contract and financial review of the teams associated accounts
Maintain Sr. Level relationships
Clearly communicate the payers opportunity and the risks associated
Lead the team with strategy and planning, and other tools to meet client needs
Manage preformas and associated contracts
8+ years professional work experience in the Pharmacy Benefit Management or Retail Pharmacy Industry
5+ years drafting and negotiating contracts and associated financial frameworks.
Will travel up to 40% of the time
10+ years cumulative work experience in the PBM or Retail Pharmacy industry
Prior Leadership experience
Knowledge of the Healthcare and Pharmacy Landscape
Experience with Health Plan Payers and associated lines of business-Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial, and Exchanges
Passion for Health Care: A history of work in the health care industry and an ongoing desire to make one of the worlds strongest health care companies even stronger.
Team Leadership: developed relationship-building skills to further working relations across the Retail Enterprise.
Influencing others: Can structure useful guidance around complex and far reaching strategy decisions to influence and guide the decisions made by others.
Comfortable presenting to Sr. Executives, Experts, Pharmacy, Medical Affairs etc. Communicate in a way that quickly builds trust and respect.
