About the Role:
We are looking for an intern for a 3-month appointment to investigate application of adhesives and coatings in apparel making and customization.
During the internship, you will work collaboratively with team members with backgrounds in garment design, material science and manufacturing process development. You will also have the opportunity to work with chemical suppliers. You will establish methods and processes that help us select or develop materials with the right chemical, mechanical and thermal characteristics as well as aesthetic appeal that can change how apparels are made and customized.
- Good understanding of polymer material characterization techniques and structure-property relationships relevant to apparel appeal and comfort
- Ability to make connections between material behaviors, design constraints, manufacturing processes and product performance
- Junior in college or first year graduate student in polymer engineering, materials science, textile engineering, chemistry or chemical engineering
