We are in search of Senior Engineers, who have worked on monitoring technologies and have strong working knowledge of best practices for internal monitoring and alerting of web applications. You will work closely with a product owner to review existing infrastructure, coordinate with multiple scrum teams, and build solutions that provide the right information to the right people in a timely manner. You apply agile methods while participating fully in the SDLC process to build and enhance Live Site First applications. You will apply new concepts and principals while monitoring progress of performance and changing approach accordingly as well as participate in the technical design reviews.

Over 21 billion web hits a month across hundreds of pages are owned by scores of development teams. Success depends the tools developed by the Live Site First team to identifying errors and performance issues quickly and getting the right teams alerted and involved quickly.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a key management and thought leadership role in the areas of monitoring, alerting, metric thresholding, performance improvement, and best practices

  • Drive the evaluation of third party tools and systems, and make recommendations

  • Maintain cross functional relationships with the NOC, application developers and infrastructure teams

  • Keep pace with the innovative technologies and consider possibilities of creating relevant solution offerings

  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to others in the area of quality database code

  • Identify and evaluate new or different technologies for implementation

  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical solutions

  • Identify and validate software and infrastructure components required to implement technical solutions

Typical Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in an engineering role preferably in a monitoring or tool design role

  • Experience in an Agile environment preferred

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge and experience with Java development in a microservices architecture

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal

  • Passion for excellent production performance, and data gathering
