About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer for the Core Team, youll work as an integral team member to build high-quality software for our internal customers. This role is back-end focused, meaning you should be comfortable designing and implementing API endpoints (including the use of caching, queueing, eventing, and authentication) and database schemas.
The right candidate exhibits a natural problem-solving curiosity and possesses strong critical thinking skills. They value working as a team and helping each other reach collective goals. Since code is a tool for meeting business objectives, they should be able to think through the impact their work and behaviors have on end-users while focusing on driving the highest value.
Responsibilities
Own medium-to-large-sized features from design to release
Ability to operate autonomously while understanding when to ask for help in order to prevent being blocked
Prioritize their work to make continual forward progress and avoid the temptation to over-optimize or focus on unimportant details.
Thoughtfully and authentically communicate and deliver feedback to peers and their manager, primarily during code reviews, retrospectives, and one-on-ones.
Requirements
4+ years of hands-on coding
Strong PHP/Laravel experience including writing automated tests
Strong database design skills
Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs/asks
Nice-to-haves
Experience with third party payment platforms such as Stripe
Experience with e-commerce platforms and ERP systems
WordPress experience
