Liberty Mutual IT Hosting Services is actively searching for a Manager to support our Desktop & Application Virtualization and Systems Management Engineering technology teams. In this role you will be responsible for continuously improving how we deliver and maintain end user technology tools to optimize productivity for our 50K+ global associates and business partners. This position is part of a core team that is responsible for enhancing Libertys existing end user technology platforms, as well as driving the transformation to a next generation, cloud optimized modern workplace platform that meets the evolving needs of our workforce and supports our business objectives.


In this role, you will be responsible for hiring, managing, coaching and deploying resources across scrum teams to enable optimal alignment of staff to business priorities. You will measure and improve the quality of work delivered by team members and ensure that application of current tools and capability enables best practices across the community. You will engage with our business partners to manage the delivery of our services and adherence to budget constraints. You will work closely with the Portfolio Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Director to deliver high quality, stable and fit for purpose solutions to our business partners.


Responsibilities are:

  • Defines and implements optimal practices for resourcing and staffing Agile teams. Responsible for workforce and talent management plans.
  • Coordinates and delivers performance reviews and drives professional development, including rotations and special assignments. Facilitates or provides mentoring experiences.
  • Manages the quality of work delivered by team members and deals effectively with performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Initiates process and organizational improvement activities which enhance overall effectiveness; proactively seeks ways to improve human resource and other management processes.
  • Defines metrics and key performance indicators to track efficiency and efficacy of practice deliverables.
  • Maintains technical skills in the associated domains to provide technical coaching and support to team members.
  • Initiates and fosters business partnerships with current and potential clients, vendors and IT executives; develops relationships that support increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversees the development, implementation and execution of deployment plans in coordination with the Product Owner.
  • Coordinates with aligned operational teams to facilitate the hand-off of new work; ensures SLAs are met and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Manages significant event response efforts and conducts follow-ups to improve the stability and availability of our solutions.
  • Performs related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least 10 years of experience in IT or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • 3-5 of IT leadership, ideally in a servant leader capacity.

  • Technical experience in content delivery networking and web conferencing technologies is a plus.

  • Requires highly developed negotiation and consensus building skills, highly developed communication and presentation skills and in-depth knowledge of budget management and business operations.
