Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.

Facebook is seeking a Technical Program Management (TPM) team for our mobile app for Android and iOS. Our Mobile Core team is responsible for the delivery of the Facebook App for both Android and iOS. We build cutting edge solutions for our family of products, and lead initiatives for evolving the Facebook App for new versions of the OS, SDK updates and leverage new languages, such as Kotlin on Android. You will be the first to leverage many of these new changes, and get the opportunity to collaborate with over a dozen product teams across the organization.

The TPM will work with multiple product and infra teams to deliver and maintain a best-in-class experience across the industry. The TPM will also be the first in line for developing and driving a strategy for scale, reliability and efficiency. We will need someone enthusiastic about learning and leveraging cutting-edge web technology. In this position, you will build the roadmap and lead the engineering execution with Facebook's Product Foundation team. You will do that while working closely with some of the worlds most talented Product Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Researchers and Product Managers to define the long-term vision and feature requirements for the team. You'll also provide cross-team and executive presentations to gain buy-in from key stakeholders. Product Foundation Technical Program Managers are a group of passionate individuals who go deep on learning their teams systems and then leverage this technical knowledge to influence and drive company-wide projects and roadmaps.

New hires in this role go through the technical program manager training, engineering bootcamp, and are expected to build an overarching understanding of the whole system architecture. As peers to Engineering Managers and Product Managers, Product Foundation TPMs heavily contribute to planning, negotiating cross-team dependencies, representing the customer, and are expected to shine as a valuable addition to the Facebook App organization.

I'm an engineering manager on our real-time infrastructure team, and my team focuses on GraphQL Subscriptions — a component of the widely-used GraphQL open source query language for APIs — that makes it easier for engineers to build real-time features into their products. At Facebook, this framework powers a number of features that people use every day, including comment-typing indicators and streaming reactions on live videos.

At Facebook, you have the opportunity to contribute to an incredibly wide range of infrastructure projects. While our engineers have a variety of expertise, they share a passion for solving complex engineering challenges at scale. It's humbling to know that everything you work on can potentially impact more than two billion people around the world.

We develop the network software for Facebook applications on iOS and Android platforms. This includes measuring and improving performance, reliability, security, and efficiency of network communication with Facebook servers. Getting the most out of a diverse set of worldwide mobile networks, and millions of handsets with a wide range of hardware capabilities is challenging as well as fun. All this while we play good citizens in these networks and are mindful of the device battery, storage, and data consumption.
