A stellar opportunity to have a massive impact: join our rapidly growing Data Science team at a company continually redefining how people travel. Hopper was built on the premise that the combination of big data + machine learning could empower travelers in a completely unprecedented way. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be directly responsible for many of the innovative features well be working on. You will be collaborating with our outstanding design, engineering and product teams on building technology to personalize travel for our ever-expanding population of customers.


  • Build, lead and drive team members towards an inspiring vision to deliver world-class products that add more value to our customers using data
  • Communicate data scientific solutions to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Implement best in class Data Science practices and invest in data infrastructure to enable Data Science at scale
  • Collaborate directly with the company's technology leadership, product, design and engineering teams on ensuring Hopper's success
  • Mentor and coach technical team members


  • A degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines
  • Strong working knowledge of research methodology and statistical techniques including experimentation, statistical inference, and machine learning
  • Big picture perspective and customer obsession
  • Deep curiosity and love of problem-solving
  • Excelled in cross-functional teams, working fluidly with Product Managers, Engineers, and other highly skilled specialists
  • 5 years of experience as a high-performing Data Scientist on a product team, including mentorship of more junior team members at different stages in their career. Formal management experience preferred
