The Position

The instructional design lead will focus on developing content for our growing learning and development programs. Working closely with the senior learning manager you will build engaging multimedia content to support a wide variety of online learning content based on the company requirements and core values.

In this role, you will conduct needs assessments, select instructional models, and design instructional content. You will also develop instructional materials in consultation with Subject Matter Experts (SME's). You'll ensure that instructional programs are effectively implemented and will evaluate the content and adjust as required. Your projects will include both standard and moderately complex instructional design projects.

  • Build engaging learning activities and compelling course content that improves retention and transfer

  • Work with SMEs and identify target audiences training needs

  • State instructional end goals and build content that matches them

  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product

  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts

  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods

  • Provide exercises and activities that improve the learning process

  • Build material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)

  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learners performance and develop assessment instruments

  • Maintain project documentation and course folders

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

  • 3+ years of Training and Design experience required

  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills

  • Experienced knowledge of E-learning authoring tools (Captivate, Storyline, etc.)

  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System

  • Visual design skills (video production & graphic design) with a focus on storyboarding

  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts

  • BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar

  • Experience with Articulate 360 or Storyline is a plus
