Feather is growing our best-in-class operations team in New York, and is seeking a Fulfillment Lead to manage the complex operations in our last-mile fulfillment centers. You will be responsible for driving the optimization, efficiency, and success of our fulfillment operation in all markets. Youll implement innovative processes to support our proprietary reverse logistics model.

The role demands both a strategic focus with an eye on the future and the willingness to command daily operations in multiple facilities, taking responsibility for the success of the fulfillment of each Feather order. Youll manage teams across multiple markets and time zones, collaborate closely with the delivery, account management, and merchandising teams at Feather, and will report to the Head of Logistics.

What youll be doing:

  • Oversee the workflow and operations in each of Feathers last-mile fulfillment centers, including taking over management of the warehouse teams in each of these facilities
  • Implement processes in the warehouses that will ensure 100% accuracy in fulfilling customer orders across each market
  • Create a detailed strategic plan for last-mile warehousing and fulfillment that will allow Feather to scale rapidly in both existing and new markets, considering key factors such as real estate commitments and labor plans
  • Develop and own Feathers existing innovative infrastructure related to reverse logistics with a focus on how we receive, clean, refurbish, and redeploy used items from previous subscriptions
  • Design and track KPIs related to warehouse activity, including those related to warehouse capacity, throughput, labor planning, shipment accuracy and more, using dashboards and other tools to present data and progress
  • Ensure quality control and training processes are standardized across existing markets, and implemented on day one of a new markets operations
  • Work with the product team to develop our inventory and warehouse management software
  • Collaborate with the people team to improve employee experience for the warehouse team
  • Work cross-functionally with merchandising and operations teams to contribute to a growth plan that will allow Feather to scale efficiently
  • Make periodic visits to existing Feather fulfillment centers (this role will include 10-20% travel)

What you need to be successful:

  • 3+ years of experience in hands-on operations, warehousing, and/or logistics, including a leadership role in high growth start-up
  • 2+ years experience managing large teams, with experience in management of remote teams a major plus
  • The desire to build something from the ground up and face a unique problem head-on as Feather aims to establish itself as a world leader in reverse logistics
  • An understanding of macro-level warehousing trends and an innovative eye for applying trends and processes to a unique business model
  • Knowledge of and experience with the complex logistical challenges associated with launching in a new market
