Jackpocket is the first mobile lottery app in the U.S. that offers players a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, such as Powerball, Mega Millions, and more, via their smartphones. As a Compliance Officer you will be responsible for all compliance matters related to our mobile platform, including our mobile lottery app, Jackpocket. This role will act as a resource to the General Counsel and the product and operational teams to ensure that the business is aligned with the best practices and requirements set by our regulators. As the business rapidly grows, the Compliance Officer will assist in assessing business needs and operational efficiencies. The position will also cover key areas, such as review of rules and regulations, review and drafting internal controls, AML, fraud/payments, KYC, and complaint management.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for all compliance with regard to applicable Gaming and Lottery commission regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Jackpocket policies and procedures
- Become the point of contact for regulators in each state of operation
- Assist with the development and maintenance of compliance reports and documentation for outside parties
- Monitor and investigate, as needed, all compliance, including related to internal controls, complaints, regulatory reporting, fraud identification, AML, KYC, and responsible gaming
- Work across teams to develop and maintain compliance of internal controls and policies, including information security policies
- Remain current on industry compliance regulations and policies and provide updates to company stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Ability to understand and adhere to any regulatory standards and changes and communicate effectively with lottery and gaming regulators
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Understand regulatory requirements for licensing, operations and products
- Experience in gathering and understanding requirements and the ability to negotiate the right solution for the business while meeting all regulatory expectations
- Experience working with development teams to plan and deliver solutions on time to outside parties
- Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under the pressure of short time constraints
- Must be able to develop and maintain cordial and professional relationships with all levels of the business
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the gambling industry a plus
- Law degree a plus
