We are seeking an experienced operator & leader to join the Core Experience team at TripAdvisor. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Associate Director of Operations will develop and maintain strategic systems, processes, and execution models to make our team as effective, autonomous, and accountable to the business as possible.

You will work collaboratively with VP-level leadership across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Membership, Analytics, and Communications to deliver organization-wide operating orders that improve the working model of the org. This is a new role that will have significant impact on a large operating team at TripAdvisor.

You will:

  • Work with the product team to establish and maintain effective operating standards that work both inside of CoreX and across the company

  • Build systems for effective cross-company communication and collaboration

  • Manage team staffing against initiatives; in partnership with product leadership, lead initiative resourcing, allocate existing talent to projects, assess and identify talent gaps, optimize talent base to deliver most effectively toward our goals

  • Make a playbook for how CoreX teams should operate; performance expectations, principles of collaboration, operational checkpoints.

  • Create consistency amongst the organization; create templated formats for roadmaps, project plans, check-ins, and reviews.

  • Help the organization and team make space for innovative thinking, while also guaranteeing delivery against plans & goals

  • Establish consistent cross-organizational methodology & tools to drive against strategic initiatives.

  • Work closely with the President to build process for executive reviews, feedback & communication

  • Develop reporting system to identify product team wins & losses and work with leadership & strategy team to make optimization decisions.

  • Help develop hiring best practices

  • Work with the Strategy team to operationalize strategic plans & deliver effective reporting on progress to goals

You have:

  • 7-10 years experience working with high-functioning product teams

  • Proven track record building team best practices and creating efficiencies

  • Experience leading operations teams and defining processes in a fast-paced environment

  • Incredible instincts around talent management and staffing

  • Deep project management expertise, ideally with experience building a centralized Project Management Organization
