Aternity LLC seeks Manager, Engineering.
1. (40%) Lead an agile team to design and build elegant, scalable, enterprise-class Mac Agent software applications for monitoring End-User Experience;
Oversee developers and QA engineers assigned to Mac Agent development and ensure proper job performance and focus;
Write reusable, scalable application components using Java, C/C++, Objective-C and Swift;
Design and build new features from the ground up;
Build unit tests and troubleshooting tools to help ensure that QA is able to adequately test new features;
Ensure that projects that span multiple teams have identified all dependencies and are on-track for their scheduled delivery date;
Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to help shape the architecture and interfaces of the product;
2. (20%) Drive customer success with the Aternity Mac Agent and identify strategic opportunities for product improvements arising from product incidents/case escalations.;
Partner with product owner and application engineers on feature implementation and track Request for Enhancements (RFEs) in Jira to ensure feasibility;
Engage with customers and Professional Services to implement software system solutions and determine workflows to address customer application issues;
Review and vet design and implementation and serve as technical point of contact during the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) phase;
3. (20%) Respond to escalated product and customer issues and gather, organize, and analyze problem details for resolution to test/development teams;
Manage the Mac Agent beta and controlled release programs and review earlier customer diagnostic data to decide when to release GA;
Resolve escalated cases from level 1 and 2 support engineers using case management system (Salesforce);
Gather and analyze data collected/needed to troubleshoot customer issues, identify solutions, and reproduce bugs;
Create knowledgebase based on analysis and solutions to reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) and drive customer success for future issues;
4. (20%) Help create tools and infrastructure to build and test the software;
Design and implement build infrastructure and scripts to automatically build new components;
Design and build investigation tools and mock testing environments capable of reproducing and investigating customer issues;
Assess, prioritize, and fix errors discovered both by Quality Assurance and customers
The position requires a Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with three-years of experience in software development, or in the alternative, a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with five-years of experience in software development.
The position also requires the following experience, which may be gained concurrently:
3 years experience programming in C/C++
3 years experience with Linux
1 year experience programming in Java
1 year experience programming in Objective-C or Swift
1 year experience with End-User Experience monitoring (EUEM) software
1 year experience in architecting and managing Mac Agent design, development and quality assurance
1 year experience utilizing MacOS and its various APIs and Services
