Rapid7 is expanding its Legal Team as the Company continues to grow, evolve and gain market share in the global cybersecurity space. With 48% of the Fortune 100 as clients, our Legal Team manages a diverse set of business needs including contract practices, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, export law, corporate governance, litigation, international legal issues, employment laws, regulatory matters and compliance.

As Legal Counsel for Commercial Contracts, youll have primary responsibility for commercial matters (including drafting, negotiation, and management of existing contractual relationships) and will work on complex projects that help us grow, scale, and evolve as a business. In this role you will:

  • Support a large organizations commercial goals through reviewing and negotiating services agreements, SaaS and on-premises software licenses directly with customers

  • Translate complex legal requirements and advice for day-to-day practical guidance from legalese into plain English for business stakeholders

  • Provide contract interpretation and practical advice regarding the various legal relationships that exist with the companys customers, partners and vendors

  • Lead and participate in additional opportunities to improve processes and increase understanding of legal issues within Rapid7

In return you will bring:

  • Admission to and in good standing with the Massachusetts bar (or equivalent with in house waiver/registration)

  • 3-5 years of experience with commercial negotiations in a business setting, preferably in the tech space

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple assignments with competing timelines

  • Strong communication and partnership skills as demonstrated by previous experience working closely with non-attorney stakeholders

  • Attention to detail and a can-do attitude coupled with a sense of humor and team mentality
