As our Director of UX, you will be working with a talented, passionate, and collaborative team of product managers, experience designers and engineering teams to transform the ways applications are built within small companies to large enterprise customers.
Role Description
We're eager to add an experienced UX Director to lead the teams, strategy, and execution of key user experience elements of our Quickbase platform builder. This team is part of the Product Management organization and works closely with product and engineering teams.
You will manage Content Design and UX Managers and their teams who are responsible for UI and UX strategy, design and content for the total Quickbase platform user experience.
What Success Looks Like in this Role:
- Inspire and lead a team of 17+ content, visual, and interaction designers including people managers
- Own overall vision and direction for the user interaction experience of the platform
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to develop the new UX strategy and execute across the platform
- Bring operational knowledge and workflow excellence to managing the team
- Form a bridge between the design team and product/engineering teams to ensure that business goals and user needs always align
- Facilitate cross-team and collaborative workshops to discuss and visualize what those perspectives look like in terms of the users' and business' goals
- Working with the product User Research team, identify and articulate high-impact research questions and opportunities that could help drive strategic design decisions
- Synthesize user research and business data to help shape individual product projects within the overall context of the roadmap.
- Review user stories to ensure objectives, goals, and requirements are clear and led by user research
- Use storytelling to communicate high-level concepts and research insights in presentations, reports, and workshops
- Evaluate and measure the outcome for design sprints to provide recommendations on how best to improve the overall product design and collaboration between the cross-functional team
- Own sitemaps and navigational models and serve as the user advocate within integrated teams to ensure user experience aligns with a customer-centric approach
- Drive the business value of design systems and platform user experience by measuring and reporting outcomes for the full organization
Professional Experience:
- 12+ years of design/creative experience, 5+ years leadership and people manager experience, 2+ years of design systems experience
- Experience leading multiple teams, coaching and mentoring managers as your direct reports
- Deep experience in platform / device design patterns and templates, design thinking, product design, technology enterprise project or program management, service design or design strategy
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams to launch cohesive experiences across multiple platforms
- Technical understanding of capabilities and limitations for multiple platforms including web and native mobile (iOS and Android)
- Track record of advocacy of accessibility requirements and delivery
