We are seeking a Digital Platform Product Manager to help advance iRobot’s capabilities and provide our customers with a world-class digital experience. As a Digital Platform Product Manager, you will drive the execution of our digital experience roadmaps and have a direct impact on our digital transformation. You will contribute to the company’s broader vision in digital customer experience by challenging and extending our thinking to ensure that we’re doing right both by our customers and our business.

Digital Platform Product Management is at the intersection of the “what” in our experience roadmap and the “how” in our technology roadmap. The Platform Product Manager must be able to translate the visions of our Experience Product Managers, and partner with strong technology leads in the software organization to make them a reality for their assigned platform component. To do this, you will need to bring a unique blend of technical savviness, business savviness, and user experience savviness, along with a distinct bias towards action. You’ll assess tradeoffs for how to best architect and implement solutions, and will make the challenging prioritization decisions across customer, business, and technology infrastructure needs. In the end, your partnership with Engineering, Design, and other PM leaders will enable iRobot to build the capabilities that will power the next generation iRobot’s platforms. A successful candidate has a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. You must be capable of driving multiple initiatives - focusing on details while not losing sight of the big picture.

What you will do: 

  • Identify capabilities and technology infrastructure that are necessary to create the backbone for iRobot's full suite of products.  

  • Lead agile, empowered and dedicated development teams on a day-to-day basis, answering questions, making decisions, and closely managing scope and quality of deliverables. 

  • Translate the digital value proposition and customer experience into a logically sequenced and optimized product roadmap for key product areas. 

  • Prioritize activities to balance the needs of the business and the supporting architecture efforts.  

  • Write user stories aligned with product vision, creating clear requirements for the development team. 

  • Define success criteria for product development and build the insight required to measure it effectively. Obsess over the data and always be working to gain more insight to drive better outcomes. 

  • Develop and maintain the product and feature roadmap for your assigned platform area, performing ongoing backlog maintenance, prioritization, and resolution of defects/bugs. 

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial and technical goals. 

  • Opportunity to work on robot behaviors, mobile and cloud, machine learning, and other aspects of robotic system design. 

To be successful, you will have:  

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent preferred); MBA preferred. 

  • 7+ years of professional experience in similar role, with 3+ years of digital product management, or 5+ years of software engineering management/leadership with a passion for consumer centricity and strategic thinking. 

  • Technical aptitude to understand digital concepts, engage in detailed technical discussions, manage trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas. 

  • Experience working in a dual-track agile environment.

  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to make expeditious, informed decisions related to product and platforming that align to the digital roadmap and strategy. 

  • Strong problem solving, negotiating, influencing, and conflict resolution skills 

  • Passion for creating innovative solutions for consumers 

  • Bias towards action; Results oriented, high energy, and self-motivated. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Excellent teamwork skills and collaboration skills.
