The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
Depending on location this may be a hybrid position (2 days in office) if you are within 50 miles of the following locations: Boston MA, Portsmouth NH, Seattle WA, Indianapolis IN, Columbus OH, Plano TX.

Summary:
The Compensation Operations and Delivery Specialist provides compensation services, such as job evaluations and cross functional job family reviews, job-related testing, auditing and inquiry resolutions. In partnership with the Compensation Advising Practice, provides ongoing consultation to business units and corporate departments managers and Talent Teams.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the Compensation Advising Practice, Business Unit Leaders, Talent Business Partners, and Talent consulting teams in resolving compensation-related matters and making recommendations. Partners with the business (Talent Teams and Line Management) to understand compensation needs.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with lines of business, talent advisors and delivery teams, talent management practice, legal, compliance, talent acquisition and employee relations.
- Collaborates on initiatives by providing analytical and reporting support on significant project work that may include analysis of pay practices, job structure realignment, job family development, and compensation program audits. Audits existing policies, procedures, systems and researches emerging compensation issues and proposes recommendations to enhance current or create new compensation programs.
- Analyzes jobs through the job usage and job evaluation process to ensure internal equity of positions across job families and grade levels. Identifies internal comparisons, recommends grade and salary changes. May conduct interviews with managers to obtain position information. Prepares documentation and presents findings to the Compensation Advising Practice.
- Serves as a project team member on compensation projects by gathering, organizing and analyzing data as well as presenting findings and recommendations. These projects may be outside of the normal annual programs.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to redefine and streamline processes partners with key stakeholders to develop and implement changes and recommend best practices. Documents new procedures and workflow accordingly. Collaborates with colleagues to conduct root cause analysis, create recommendations for improvement.
- Submits critical data into systems and/or spreadsheets, ensures accurate data files are submitted and uploaded, processes critical system transactions, and audits variance reports to analyze, identify, and apply necessary data corrections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration) or equivalent experience required, in addition to 2-6 years of related human resources or analytical discipline. Note: The senior level Compensation Operations and Delivery position will also require 1-2 years of compensation experience.
- Knowledge of compensation, programs and processes. Ability to learn quickly, articulate and translate business requirements to create plans, systems, and programs.
- Ability to make good business decisions, sometimes with ambiguous or incomplete data.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with customer groups to positively influence decisions and actions
- Understands business needs and how to leverage compensation knowledge to meet those needs; demonstrates flexibility and adaptability
- Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage conflict and address competing points of view
- Displays strong PC skills, to include Excel and PowerPoint
