Job Description
We are looking for a Concierge Engagement Manager to work closely with a University Partner to facilitate on-campus and surrounding ecosystem development activities between the University Partner’s innovation team and the Techstars network. This individual will work across teams to bring the power of the Techstars Network and the Techstars Innovation offering to the University system.

In this role, you will build relationships with University leaders to understand their innovation needs and objectives. You will create a roadmap of network and local activations to support the partner's goals. You will work with the broader Techstars Worldwide Entrepreneur Network (applicants, founders, mentors, and investors) to consistently curate relevant network connections and facilitate introductions and engagements between the network members and the University. You will also consult with the University on how to best engage within the startup ecosystem. You will make recommendations/create opportunities for real engagement with companies and entrepreneurs, including bringing them to campus as appropriate. Through the process, you will help the University to grow the innovation framework within their organization to support continuous innovation on campus and within student and faculty groups. You will collaborate with Strategic Account Managers, Managing Directors, and Program Managers working closely with University senior leadership to ensure a successful partnership that aligns and leverages the resources of the University and Techstars to deliver the highest quality and most valuable experience for entrepreneurs.  
 

 
What you’ll do:
  • Establish mutual goals between the University Partner and Techstars to ensure alignment
  • Consult with University leadership and define the activation strategy for organizing, executing and reporting on efforts that support and extend their entrepreneurship programming
  • Facilitate mentor engagement across University, community and Techstars network to help the University build a foundation of mentors knowledgeable on best practices for successful engagement with entrepreneurs
  • Recruit startup companies from across the Techstars Entrepreneur Network for engagement with student and faculty entrepreneurs
  • Build and deliver regular reports and pilot reviews for the University partner
  • Ad Hoc introductions to network contacts according to innovation goals
  • Resolve issues and challenges impeding Techstars success
  • Organize networking events at the University’s campus as needed
  • Produce high-quality deliverables to support the pilot and expand the University product offering at Techstars
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to create additional network opportunities for University
  • Ideate on future iterations of network engagement with universities, including experimenting with the value exchange across the network (ie founders and partners)
  • Clearly present opportunities to TS stakeholders to gain support for additional engagements that drive value in the University ecosystem 
  • Responsible for maintaining organized account records, including profiles and program reports and maintaining those in the company CRM, Salesforce.com

About You:
  • 6-8 years of experience in client-facing account management or startup work
  • The idea of working cross-functionally across Techstars and with other organizations to support entrepreneurship and drive innovative solutions and ideas excites you
  • Working knowledge of both higher education and entrepreneurial ecosystems and are able to act as a “translator” between the two (experience with University transformation projects is a plus)
  • Able to effectively communicate strategically to high-level executives
  • Ability to drive new projects and initiatives to enable effective growth and scale of our programs
  • Ability to recommend tools and processes fit for growth and scale of our programs
  • Ability to get buy-in from key stakeholders (internal and external) when rolling out new projects or new initiatives
  • Can work effectively independently and in a team environment
  • The idea of piloting and iterating on a program excites you
  • Operationally driven with a client management focus
  • Ability to manage multiple large and complex projects at the same time
  • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree minimum from an accredited college or university or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to travel regionally and potentially nationally and internationally (up to 20% travel is expected)
