Visa and Program Operations Coordinator
Visa and Program Operations Coordinator
EF High School Exchange Year
EF High School Exchange Year sponsors international high school students who spend a semester or academic year attending high school while living with host families across the United States. Our Visa and Program Operations Manager works from our Cambridge national headquarters and oversees aspects of a high school foreign exchange program, with special focus on tracking and monitoring the students nonimmigrant status through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
The Visa and Program Operations Coordinator acts as our programs primary Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). They are responsible for preparing and monitoring students J-1 exchange visitor visas, which enables students to participate in a high school exchange. The Visa and Program Operations Coordinator processes students Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status (DS2019) by reviewing and authorizing students passports and maintaining students records through SEVIS. The Visa and Program Operations Coordinator monitors the students nonimmigrant status throughout their exchange, which includes authorizing student travel, processing visa extensions, updating residency status and early program end.
In addition to managing the student visa process from start to finish, the Visa and Program Operations Coordinator collaborates with various functions of EF High School Exchange Year. They act as the point of contact for visa related questions and provide comprehensive explanations of visa regulations and other pertinent immigration information to program participants and fellow staff. Team collaboration includes working with our International Admissions team to review student application materials and determine applicants readiness for visa documents, as well as coordinating with our colleagues across Europe, Scandinavia, and Asia to ensure participants obtain their J1 visas. The Visa and Program Operations Coordinator also works with our student Program Support team to authorize student travel, with our IT team to improve our system processes, with our Compliance team to adhere to federal regulations set forth by the US Department of State, and with our Travel team to ensure students are set to travel to the US.
The Visa and Program Operations Coordinator is someone who loves a check list, who finds joy in being organized, and who finds pride in managing their own projects. A successful Visa and Program Operations Coordinator is a bridge between product functions, working diligently to ensure a positive program experience for all participants.
