Zipcar is hiring a Vice President, Operations to lead the strategy and execution of customer-centric operations across North America. The VP, Operations is responsible for managing our field operations teams, fleet/asset management, location/parking optimization, and driving operational strategic initiatives.  We are looking for a transformational leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a passionate team to disrupt the expanding mobility market as part of a pioneering mission to build the next phase of growth for Zipcar. This role reports into the President of Zipcar and is a key member of the leadership team.

What you’ll do to impact the business

  • Lead an operations team of 200+ employees across North America
  • Develop long-term strategy for operations and engage the team to turn vision into actionable plans across markets
  • Own and optimize operational KPIs that span p&l targets, fleet efficiency, and member experience metrics.
  • Coach, mentor and inspire an operational team by fostering a culture of a member centric experience, collaboration and continuous improvement to achieve productivity, SLA performance and member satisfaction targets
  • Identify and drive technology and/or data enabled opportunities for step-change process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Partner with product management to implement technology and tools that allow us to scale our business model in more geographies and/or new product lines
  • Lead and drive our fleet planning process in collaboration with finance, analytics and our corporate parent, Avis Budget Group
  • Build guardrails and milestones for financial and operational management and identify controls and improve processes
  • Partner with Avis Budget Group in areas such as supply chain, fleet management, and new market expansion where applicable

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in operational research, business, economics or equivalent
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of leadership experience working in a high-growth environment
  • Operations leadership experience including multiple managing distributed teams and assets/inventory, ideally in a forward thinking technologically enabled service business
