The Transportation Solutions Manager will lead the execution of dedicated transportation solutions, including the analytics and relationships therein, as well as oversight of domestic financial settlements for the Inbound Transportation Team. This role also acts as a liaison to internal stakeholders such as Procurement, Inventory, and Finance to achieve goals on key strategic initiatives.
Working in tandem with the Operations Team, this position also is responsible for transportation sourcing on a limited project and dedicated basis, input on carrier selection and strategy, and driving external partner behavior for best performance, aligned to expectations.
Lead the development and execution of process improvement/cost-savings initiatives, contributing to an overall goal of approximately $15M
Interpret and communicate key metrics to internal/external stakeholders, including CVS Management and vendor/carrier partners, and use those metrics to drive continuous improvement
Lead the freight pay and audit settlement function for Inbound Transportation, totaling a freight spend of approximately $100M
Lead the execution of project/dedicated Inbound Transportation RFPs (Request for Proposals) and manage the post RFP implementation process
Act as a liaison between Inbound Transportation and key internal partners such as Procurement, Inventory, and Finance, as well as external partners such as freight carriers and vendors
Support the maintenance of applications to support the Inbound Transportation Team including TMS process changes, enhancements, and upgrades
Develop/manage highly motivated team of analysts
Provide transportation/analytical leadership to support projects/initiatives as needed
Oversee special project opportunities that require additional coordination and increased service level support
- 3+ years of experience in transportation/analytical capacity with a proven ability to develop and execute strategic solutions
- Experience leading a highly motivated team
- Supply Chain experience
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Access and Excel, is required)
- Database experience utilizing SQL
- Working knowledge of Corporate Mainframe and SAP
- Experience utilizing a TMS (Transportation Management System)
-Transportation industry experience strongly preferred, including strong working knowledge of carrier sourcing/contracting, TMS system implementation, and Transportation RFP execution
- Bachelors Degree, concentration in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
-Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
