About the Role
As an Engineering Manager at Crayon, your primary responsibility will be leading a small, agile team, building and refining Crayon’s competitive intelligence platform. This is also a hands-on position, with full-stack development responsibilities. Most importantly, you will assume an active product ownership role. You will be expected to make smart decisions across the board, from requirements and scope to architecture and design. As one of the highest leveraged positions in the product organization, you will need to be exceptionally efficient with your time and ruthless when it comes to prioritization. Your success will be measured by the success and growth of your team, as well as the quality and business impact of the product your team ships.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product leadership to prioritize and execute on critical product initiatives
- Lead team in conceptualizing, developing, and refining solutions to user problems
- Manage agile dev process, including backlog grooming, triage, standups, etc.
- Guide the professional development of engineers on the team

Requirements
- Startup experience with small, high-velocity product organizations
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience. React / Django / Python experience a plus.
- At least 2+ years of direct management or team lead experience
- A user-centric approach to developing product, and a strong appreciation for UX principles
- Proven track record of delivering elegant solutions to complex problems
