Software Engineer III (Operational Engineering/Order Management Software) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to develop internal order management software and build tools and processes that support our sales & service and supplier operations (SOPS) teams. Perform full-stack development, with focus on backend work to provide metrics and build reporting for customer service and supplier-related metrics. Build automated processes for handling post-order changes. Write SQL queries, stored procedures, and schema design within a large database system. Perform object-oriented web development using PHP. Utilize reporting and monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana & Graphite. Mentor junior software developers.  Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience performing front-end application and database development or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience as noted above. One year of experience must include: performing version control using GIT and SVN; performing design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; performing SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and performing data ETL; interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; and performing full-stack web programming using SQL and Java Script.
