Duties: Design software architecture, create technical designs, and develop applications in an Agile environment to support pricing engineering and dynamic pricing. Lead sprint estimation, planning, Kanban operations and retrospectives. Mentor junior software engineering team members in supporting existing infrastructure and building technical solutions for new business initiatives. Leverage tools like DataDog to monitor applications and set up alerting for pricing applications. Develop and improve pricing infrastructure that generates prices based on business defined rules, factoring margin components, shipping estimates, product globalization and currency conversions using some but not necessarily all of the following technologies: Python, Bash, Docker, F#, C#, PowerShell, PHP, and SQL. Develop and maintain web-based tools using some but not necessarily all of the following technologies: PHP, JavaScript, React.js, backbone.js, jQuery, DataTables, ASP.NET, C#, and ASP, to administer business operations and reporting. Orchestrate continuous integration using some but not necessarily all of the following technologies: Git, Octopus, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Requirements: Requires a Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field plus two (2) years of experience utilizing Python, C#, .NET, SQL, or Java. Experience must include:

Two (2) years in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Web development using PHP, JavaScript, and SQL
  • Version control using GIT
  • Design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable front-end applications
  • Designing back-end applications using .Net, C#, F#, or SQL
  • Designing scalable data retrieval using RESTful APIs with .Net framework for large scale data lakes
  • Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding front-end web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance
  • Defining test plans and performing unit, integration, and functional testing
  • SQL database development including designing, queries, triggers and stored procedures, performance tuning, and data ETL
  • Web programming using PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, ReactJS, and Handlebars
  • Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design

One (1) year in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Large scale data integration and ETL, processing hundreds of terabytes of data
  • Logging and reporting application metrics and creating alerts to notify developers of software failures and errors
  • Performing software engineering in an Agile environment including code reviews, code deployment, and monitoring

Will accept a Bachelors degree plus five (5) years of described experience.

Experience may be gained before, during, or after issuance of advanced degree.
