Bullhorn: Senior Systems Engineer I

Bullhorn is looking for a problem-solving systems focused technologist to become our next Senior Systems Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for building, implementing, troubleshooting, and managing products and solutions for Bullhorns production environment, while ensuring 24/7 availability. The position will require an excellent understanding of JVM and LAMP stack technologies along with windows services and configuration. The ideal candidate will have proven technical experience with an excellent foundation in operating systems and networking skills.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Design, build, implement, and manage products and solutions for Bullhorns production environment

  • Monitor and maintain all production system equipment and services

  • Manage technology projects from initiation to completion.

  • Participate in the planning and coordination of new product deployment and enhancement projects, ensuring preparedness in servicing the product

  • Ensure 24/7 availability of the production application environment. This will include 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.

  • Develop system analysis and reporting tools and tools for task automation

  • Document technical environments, processes and procedures, testing plans, project plans.

  • Providing leadership to entry-level technicians.

  • Developing technical training content for the IT organization and facilitate Subject Matter Expert training of the processes and/or products you support ensuring the rest of the team builds corresponding acumen.

  • Provide direct support to Software Development, Quality Engineering, Customer Support, Professional Services and third party vendors as needed to resolve production problems

  • Maintain network and systems configurations for national and international data centers.

  • Traveling to global offices to build, improve, or troubleshoot local infrastructure.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 5+ years total experience with systems administration and engineering, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting

  • Must work well in high pressure environments

  • Mastery of Redhat or CentOS

  • Windows server 2003, 2008, 2012

  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls

  • JBoss/Tomcat/PHP/Apache

  • Proficiency in Shell, Python and scripting

  • Previous experience in a SaaS and/or high volume website environment preferred

  • Experience in automation and managing large server environments

  • LDAP/Kerberos authentication against Microsoft Active Directory

  • SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, FCP, CIFS, NFS, etc)

  • Open Source Project experience

  • Previous oncall experience

  • Puppet/CFEngine
