Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring Software Engineers for our Order Management Systems (OMS) team in Boston, MA. The OMS is a critical part of our custom e-commerce platform that is responsible for all of our order processing as well as the business processes used to manage orders including customer facing notifications. The platform currently handles millions of transactions a month and is being scaled to handle a rapidly growing volume with greater resiliency. This is a high-profile position that will have exposure across the entire business, influencing the vision and implementation of architecture, design and features for this platform. As part of a dynamic team, this role offers a tremendous opportunity for professional growth in the leading online pet retailer in the US. The role will allow you to act as a technical contributor while partnering with a team of strong engineers building Chewys next generation OMS.

What you'll do:

  • Design and build new features and capabilities into the OMS
  • Drive technical decisions and collaborate with talented peers
  • Review code, implementations and give meaningful feedback that helps others build better solutions
  • Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams
  • Scale the OMS as Chewy continues to grow leveraging our on-prem datacenters and AWS

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development as a software engineer
  • Fluency in 1 or more programming languages and database technologies
  • Position may require travel
