You express your opinions, and have the facts to back them up, but are willing to compromise when necessary. You like to have fun while you’re working, but understand when it’s time to get serious.  You are a dedicated software craftsperson who cares deeply about best practices and what it takes to write and maintain great code.

About the Role

This is a brand new role on the Continuous Delivery team. We are seeking an engineer who has demonstrated experience with and passion for developing the tooling necessary to effectively build, package, and deploy front-end web applications and JavaScript components. Specifically, the engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining yeoman generators and CD pipelines to facilitate the creation and upgrading of JavaScript components and applications. The engineer will work closely with all front-end development teams to learn their use cases, advise on front-end tooling best practices, spread the adoption of modern tooling, and help reduce tech debt.

  • As part of a scrum team, provide technical direction for and be a key contributor to the development of front-end tooling and CD pipelines to enable development teams to move faster.
  • Collaborate with architects and development teams to understand the team needs and find the best technical solution for meeting those needs.
  • Mentor junior members on best practices, architecture, and development
  • Stay on top of industry trends and ensure the team appropriately utilizes the latest technologies and best practices
  • Be a key contributor to the creation of a long-term, scalable architecture.

  • Experience writing markup that is consistent across all browsers and platforms, understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Understanding of fluid and responsive layout, browser behavior and compatibility, and cross-device issues and solutions
  • Experience with Protractor, RSpec or equivalent integration testing framework
  • Experience with unit testing and test driven development
  • Expert knowledge working with Git in a CI/CD environment
  • Proven ability to design future-proof, maintainable, large scale front-end web applications
  • Ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scalability, performance, security, usability, and development platforms
