Manages and participates in the preparation of all external financial reporting for a NASDAQ-listed Large Accelerated Filer. Coordinates information gathering for accounting and financial reporting matters for monthly and quarterly internal and external reporting, which involves extensive interactions with accounting, legal and deal personnel. Interacts with and provides information to the Company’s internal and external auditors. Researches and documents accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards, compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. Monitors compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations in the context of financial reporting. Works with the accounting team in the preparation of monthly internal financial reports. This position offers the right candidate an opportunity to join one of the best performing technology IPOs and be part of two of the fastest growing segments of the Internet – SaaS and the Cloud!

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and coordinate all SEC financial filings (10-K, 10-Q), registration statements, earnings releases, quarterly supplemental filings, etc.  This includes the XBRL tagging for Everbridge, Inc., a large accelerated filer 
  • Prepare, gather, document and review support documentation for internal and external financial reporting, including the review of GAAP & disclosure checklists
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to senior executives and the Board of Directors
  • Coordinate completion of quarterly tax provision
  • Coordinate annual state and federal tax filings
  • Assist with treasury management process
  • Assist with the review of budget-to-actual variance explanations provided by the Controller and prepare explanations at the consolidated level
  • Coordinate data requests and analysis for internal and external auditors
  • Assist in the design of system reports and processes that enhances the timeliness and accuracy of reporting packages
  • Monitor, enhance, implement and adhere to formal processes for internal controls surrounding the reporting process to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) section 404 requirements
  • Perform technical research on accounting issues and new accounting and disclosure standards
  • Ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive yet concise manner
  • Participate as part of M&A due diligence team, especially with regard to accounting and tax matters

Evaluate opportunities for business process reengineering. As the company continues to experience rapid growth, the successful candidate will work as an “agent of change” to help lead the company through the reevaluation and improvement of internal processes and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong current knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations (exposure to IFRS a plus)
  • 8-10 years of recent experience in accounting and financial reporting roles, including Big 4 public accounting experience with large active public clients/SEC reporting exposure
  • Education: BA in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA required (license need not be active)
  • Project management skills – ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects from start to finish, incorporating feedback from multiple sources.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communications abilities
  • Experience with Active Disclosure software and knowledge of XBRL
