The Sales Operations Associate will support company-wide sales efforts out of the New York City office. You will be primarily responsible for day-to-day sales operations through store- and distribution center-level order management for existing and future retail, wholesale, and restaurant customers for Bowery’s local & pesticide-free produce. As Bowery’s global SOA, you’ll be an important first line of communication with our customers’ ordering and receiving departments. On a daily basis you will interface with the Bowery Farming sales, operations, accounting and marketing departments. In addition to being in direct contact with our customers (including Whole Foods Market, Sweetgreen, Walmart and many others), you’ll assist the sales team in building and analyzing sales data reports. Beyond the day-to-day functions, the SOA will support the Sales & Account Lead and BoweryOS team in building out a CRM platform. The Sales Operations Associate will report to the Sales & Account Lead and work closely with the Account Representatives to manage Bowery’s growing sales efforts.   What you’ll do
  • Receive, manage and process daily sales orders from all retail, wholesale and restaurant customers
  • Facilitate additional sales orders and help grow Bowery’s sales volume as you contact stores and distribution centers directly via each day with the support of Account Representatives
  • Own the handoff of sales orders to the Farm Operations team
  • Communicate with Farm Operations and use the BoweryOS to convey product inventory to Account Representatives in order to effectively manage sales orders 
  • Execute the onboarding process for new customer partners
  • Utilize customer web portals to build data in tandem with the Account Representative team
  • Work closely with the Sales & Account Lead on long term projects including the build-out of a CRM platform, researching new markets for future farms, and improving sales metric views for the CEO
  • Perform additional tasks as needed
Who you are
  • 1+ years of work experience or a recent Bachelor’s degree (sales experience or experience in a support role is a plus)
  • Organized and efficient workflow - you will be using many different applications and platforms, including Slack, G-suite, Microsoft Office, various customer web portals and the custom-built BoweryOS
  • High energy level – you should be able to be engage effectively, influence retailer decisions, and communicate with multiple personality types externally and within the Bowery organization
  • Responsiveness - Bowery’s customers require quick and efficient communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you’ll be cold-calling customers on the phone and emailing in support of hundreds of sales orders per week
  • The ability to operate independently and an entrepreneurial spirit
