A unique opportunity exists at Youtopia® for a self-starter with a growth mindset to join our start-up where innovation is valued. We need a Front End Engineer familiar with React to take an active role in defining architecture guidelines, selecting tools, and establishing internal standards for creating web apps. You will solve challenging user experience problems and have an important voice in the product & software design process.
As our FE Engineer, you will:
- Develop apps that are making a material impact on the world and will be seen by millions of users.
- Develop using React or Vue.js.
- Implement and maintain complex, responsive, multilingual user interfaces for customer-facing features and internal users.
- Lead a team of other frontend developers and help mentor up-and-comers.
- Help level-up other team members through knowledge sharing and learning activities.
- Be a part of agile software development practices and peer/code reviews.
- Learn new things from other Youtopians as well as improve how we operate.
- 80% hands-on development and 20% documentation and team interaction.
What you bring to the table:
- You’ve worked with, and have a good understanding of Version Control, preferably using Git.
- Exceptionally skilled in frontend framework like React, Vue.js or AngularJS.
- Previously worked with agile software processes.
- Worked with major cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
- Prior experience with CI/CD tools and can troubleshoot when needed.
- You have experience writing unit tests and understand why they are important.
- You enjoy talking to non-technical team members and are good at distilling technical information for a variety of roles within a business.
- You’re a natural problem-solver and willing to take initiative.
- You can explain complex topics in a simple way.
Required experience and education:
- 5+ years experience writing software that is widely adapted & used
- 3+ years writing React or Vue.js
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Prior experience with CI/CD tools
- Prior experience with a frontend framework like React, Vue.js or Angular JS
