Project Manager/Language Lead Hybrid
Project Management responsibilities include:
Scope and quote projects for identified clients.
Plan and monitor projects to meet deadline, quality and budget requirements.
Manage client relationships and serve as primary day-to-day contact for external clients.
Provide support and input to Sales and external clients, including education about the localization process, as required.
Set and manage client expectations.
Collaborate with production teams to create, implement and maintain appropriate client- or project-specific procedures, solutions, checklists and instructions.
Monitor and maintain project financials, including revenue recognition, revenue forecasting and billings.
Ensure the accuracy of financial project data, workflows, schedules and processes to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Collaborate with internal teams to initiate and implement procedural changes and customized workflows.
Resolve questions and issues in a timely and effective manner for clients and internal teams.
Organize and participate in client meetings (Quarterly Business Review Meetings, etc.).
Drive implementation of Company and BU initiatives across managed accounts.
Linguist responsibilities include:
Works alongside Lionbridge project management team to ensure on-time deliveries that meet rigorous quality criteria and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures for Life Sciences.
Actively participates in production throughout the project lifecycle, from kick-off to final delivery: analyzes source material to define the best language strategy to meet customer requirements; makes recommendations on risks and contingencies; provides comprehensive support package to the linguists; communicates with external and internal team regarding language matters; resolves linguistic issues and queries, centralizes project communication for the linguists working in one or more languages.
With the help of a dedicated off-shore Language Lead; Designs and implements the linguistic quality assurance process throughout project and signs-off on overall quality of final deliverables before shipping to client.
Drives development, implementation and maintenance of linguistic assets (including but not limited to translation memories, glossaries, style guides, and various checks).
Facilitates implementation of customer feedback. Provides input for post-project analysis.
Helps to expand the pool of qualified resources by providing training to linguists as necessary and regularly monitoring quality of their work.
May perform small linguistic tasks such as translation, editing, proofreading, and linguistic testing, on an as needed basis.
Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply new technical skills, tools and applications quickly, as well as to understand and assimilate complex technical information.
Bachelor's or Master's degree (in Linguistics, Translation or language-related domain preferred)
3+ years project management experience or professional experience in translation or related field.
Fluency in spoken and written English (near-native)
Fluency in a second language (strongly preferred, not required)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and related tools, esp. MS Excel and Word would be a plus
Experience with CAT tools would be a plus!
Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
Localization experience skills a plus.
Experience working with Life Sciences customers would be a plus
