Based in the heart of Boston, our entrepreneurial and collaborative culture combines the best attributes of an established industry leader with the disruptive attitude of a startup.  As we grow the company and both create and acquire new products, we are seeking a M&A Analyst. The M&A Analyst will play a part in all aspects of the M&A process as Building Engines takes control of commercial real estate tech market. 

The M&A Analyst will be a key part of the Corporate Development team and will be responsible for sourcing targets aligned to Building Engines’ M&A strategy, presenting and assessing M&A targets, as well as participating in the due diligence process to consummate transactions.  Building Engines expects to complete multiple M&A transactions each year in a range of geographies and across different verticals within its market.  The successful candidate will have ongoing exposure to the company’s Executive Team, Board of Directors, private equity backers, and M&A target management teams.


  • Build and nurture M&A pipeline based on specific filtering criteria
  • Conduct market research to assess new verticals within market
  • Participate in crafting M&A strategy
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitors, and expansion opportunities
  • Interact with potential M&A targets to assess fit
  • Develop comprehensive financial and M&A models with appropriate driving assumptions to assist the decision-making process  
  • Due diligence analysis to support acquisition theses
  • Prepare presentation materials for executive leadership and Board of Directors
  • Work closely with Product team to assess technology and understand alignment
  • Maintain and report key metrics for M&A pipeline


  • Bachelor’s with emphasis in business, finance, and/or economics is preferred
  • Experience within corporate M&A, consulting, investment banking, and/or private equity
  • Strong Excel modeling skills both operational modeling and M&A
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills 
  • Understanding of financial statements and valuation methodologies
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience using CRM systems similar to
