We are looking for a Lead UX Designer to join our Clinician Experience zone for athenaClinicals, an award-winning electronic health record and medical practice management solution. In this role, youll shape the high-level approach to solving critical business problems that cut across multiple agile development teams. You will partner with cross-functional colleagues to create plans and drive execution, both by designing and testing product features for your own agile team, and by coaching junior designers embedded on adjacent teams.

The Team: Our Clinician Experience team is responsible for creating tools that enable our clients to care for patients and document that care easily and effectively. Were working to turn a complex and sometimes cumbersome process into a more intuitive, satisfying, and empowering experience for physicians and clinical staff.
Job Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of your problem space

Define high level solutions through visioning, workflows, information architecture diagrams, and conceptual models

Influence the product roadmap for multi-team projects

Design and run experiments to collect feedback from users

Build cross-functional team alignment and user empathy

Coach and develop designers working in your problem space

Promote and demonstrate design best practices for product owners, engineers, and design collaborators
Typical Qualifications

5+ years of professional design experience
-
Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity and complexity

Interest in developing a deep understanding of the US healthcare space

Interest in or experience working with agile/scrum teams

Ability to articulate your rationale for design decisions and tradeoffs

Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to drive decision-making

Experience coaching and mentoring junior designers

Portfolio of work demonstrating strong analytical skills, great interaction design, and effective communication skills
