Allego: Director of Sales Operations

This individual is accountable for ensuring all of the process, tools, and analytics required to maintain a smoothly running sales function at Allego are in place, tuned, and well-adopted. This role will initially be a very hands-on job executing (but will ultimately be responsible for the leadership, management and coordination of) various field support functions, including reporting, budget and quota coordination, revenue support functions, forecasting, and systems development. From day one, this position will be a strategic advisor to the CRO and Sales Leadership, and to senior management regarding how the sales team and its processes are integrating with other functions (Customer Success, Marketing, etc). The role is responsible for the effectiveness and impact of field support capabilities with the ultimate mission to improve Sales performance and outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Process Design and Management

  • Create, implement, and ensure compliance with end-to-end Sales processes, policies, systems and operating procedures
  • Seamlessly integrate Sales into up-stream (Marketing) and down-stream (Finance and Customer Success) processes
  • Systematically lower the administrative burden on sales reps and managers


Sales Intelligence

  • Define, measure, and monitor key Sales performance metrics
  • Provide data, analysis, and insights to the CRO and Sales Management about prospects, customer, sales activities, assets, etc. Recommend actions for improving performance
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting to CRO and Executive Management


Business Planning (in collaboration with Finance)

  • Direct all sales-related activities related to the fiscal year planning, quota setting, budgeting and business readiness processes
  • Direct the global sales forecasting process
  • Manage data for the fiscal year planning, quota setting, budgeting and business readiness processes
  • Implement Compensation Planning; Compensation plan, Individual Schedules, Incentive Programs and Commission analysis


Sales Tools & Systems

  • Select, implement, and maintain sales tools, including contract management, license provisioning, and training
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy through proactive maintenance of data quality in all sales systems
  • Ensure compliance with financial and operational controls and relevant regulatory requirements

Requirements

Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Finance, Marketing, Sales or a business-related field. MBA or global equivalent preferred.

Work Experience

Typically 7 or more years of experience in field facing, or finance roles, preferably in the SaaS based technology companies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial style and strong ability to work without direction
  • In-depth understanding of sales and business roles and their interactions and dependencies
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence the behavior of sales personnel and management
  • Very strong strategic and operational experience working with Salesforce.com, including:
    • o Software integrations, particularly with Marketo and various sales enablement tools
    • o SQL/MQL flow
    • o All levels of reporting including dashboards
    • o CPQ
    • o Lead scoring
    • o Territory building
  • Strong spreadsheet and analysis abilities, systems and analytical capabilities
  • Highly capable of building consensus and driving change among multiple organizational levels and varied constituents
  • In-depth understanding of internal business processes, systems, operational and sales goals
  • Due to the position's high level of exposure and the sensitivity of some data, functions must be carried out discretely and with a high level of professionalism
