ABOUT THE ROLE
Upserve's Business Development Representatives are on the front-line of our business and are responsible for prospecting and scheduling demo presentations for our Account Executives. In this role you will oversee and motivate the managers of this competitive team with a focus on delivering a winning strategy and coaching. You will report into our Chief Marketing Officer and own the execution of our companys outbound prospecting efforts to drive pipeline for the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Using technology (Salesforce, Outreach, and Marketo) to track progress against goals and improve productivity
- Meeting and striving to exceed weekly and monthly team goals
- Developing and executing our Outbound prospecting strategies, including script updates and targeted campaigns
- Working closely with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to create the tools and processes that will enable your teams success
- Coaching your team on sales best practices by analyzing quantitative metrics as well as recorded call reviews
- Joining calls with important customers to help educate them about Upserves platform, knowing our product inside and out (well train you of course)

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business or related field
  • Proven track record of attaining 100% of quota for consecutive months
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment
  • Prior team lead or people manager experience required
  • Proven experience executing sales strategy using a data driven approach
  • Ability to hire, coach, train, and mentor successful SDRs
  • Experience with Salesforce, Outreach.io (or similar power dialers) and other tech to report and analyze sales funnel and sales cycle metrics
  • An entrepreneurial spirit - our sales team is hard-working, well organized, self-motivated and confident
  • A passion for sales and technology that helps restaurateurs succeed

If you could describe working at Upserve in three words, what would they be?

Building on that a little more, why did you decide to work at Upserve?

The team at Upserve is very experienced and I’m at the point in my career where I’m trying to absorb as much as possible from the people I surround myself with in my career. I don’t want to be the smartest person in the room. Even if it’s overwhelming being in a meeting with tons of people with Masters and PhDs, they push you to go a lot faster and learn a lot faster. Sometimes it feels impossible to keep up, then you realize they’re just people who were in your shoes at one point. It’s easy to assume programmers are superhuman beings, but they’re just like everybody else, they’re a bit weird, but I like that.

You mentioned how important it is to surround yourself with people who push you, can you talk a bit more about the culture here at Upserve?

The people are thoughtful, very human and real. They respect that we’re people with lives and that we want to bring our A game but we’re also human and have good days and bad days. I feel really appreciated here, like people listen to me. I feel like they care about my growth as a person and keeping me engaged. I think they go out of their way to make my life easy, to get out of my way and let me do my job. They value that I (and everyone on the team) have a unique opinion and has something to contribute. Plus, I love that they support a lot of the initiatives with women.
